Position Overview:
The CODECE Assistant Program Manager (Intern) will support the Program Manager in coordinating and implementing community-based agriculture and health initiatives. This role is ideal for a highly motivated college student interested in Indigenous/Mexicano/Chicano community development, farming, health promotion, and nonprofit program management. This position offers hands-on experience in grassroots programming, leadership development, and long-term community impact work.

The intern will have an opportunity to grow with the role over time and take on increasing responsibilities throughout their college career.

Key Responsibilities:

Program & Team Support

Assist with management of the CODECE Farm Program, including:
Supporting technical assistance and consulting services for farmers
Helping manage farming grants and meeting reporting deadlines
Coordinating with the CODECE Farm Team
Liaising with advisor Michael Venticinque and organizing team input as needed
Support the Sembrando Salud Program by:
Coordinating garden kit distribution logistics
Assisting with the creation of technical assistance video content
Coordinate and participate in CODECE team meetings and help manage internal communications

Administrative & Communication Duties

Schedule and track deliverables, grant deadlines, and meeting follow-ups
Prepare reports, updates, and summaries for the Program Manager and CEO
Assist with data collection, evaluations, and participant feedback
Help document activities, maintain organized files, and support team workflows
Support internal communications between CODECE and other programs at CSC

Special Projects

Learn and help deliver technical assistance for tree planting and maintenance with support from Tree New Mexico and Sembrando Salud staff
Assist in long- and short-term planning with the CODECE team

Learning & Growth Opportunities:
Gain hands-on experience in nonprofit management and culturally grounded programming
Build relationships with community leaders, elders, and farmers
Receive mentorship from Program Manager and CSC leadership
Opportunities for leadership development and deeper involvement each academic year

Preferred Qualifications

Qualifications:
Current college student (Freshman or Sophomore preferred, with potential for multi-year involvement)
Strong interest in agriculture, food justice, public health, community development, or Indigenous/Mexicano/Chicano cultural organizing
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to learn and take initiative
Comfortable with digital tools (Google Drive, Zoom, Canva, etc.)
Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for community
