The candidate will possess the subject matter expertise and the creative energy necessary to function at a high level of competence in this field. The candidate will participate in fieldwork, data analysis and modeling to generate new ideas related to the coastal ocean and how it is changing in response to climate change and local human activities. The candidate will conduct independent research and play a leadership role in the Coastal Oceanography Group at the Bodega Marine Laboratory, in collaboration with the PI (Dr Largier). Towards this end, the candidate will publish research results, propose/implement new research projects, improve professional competency, mentor students, and engage in university and public service. They are expected to have advanced skills in data analysis pertinent to coastal oceanography and familiar with California estuaries and coastal ocean environments. The candidate will identify critical questions and collaborate in determining ongoing research goals in consultation with PI Largier and other collaborators at UC Davis. They will design specific projects, including the selection of appropriate methods and techniques. The candidate may work with students or technicians in conducting research.
