Huron, SD Monday-Thursday 6am-4:30pm

Join our team at Terex Utilites and embark on an exciting opportunity as we seek a skilled and dedicated Robot/CNC Programmer to contribute to the Terex Utilites team.

As a Robot/CNC Programmer at Terex Utilities, based in Huron, SD, you'll play a pivotal role in programming and operating welding robots to ensure precision and efficiency in our manufacturing processes.

What you'll do

Responsibilities:

  • Robot Programming:
    • Develop and program welding robots to perform tasks with high precision and efficiency.
    • Create, modify, and optimize robot programs to meet quality standards and production requirements.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure that welded components meet established quality standards and specifications.
    • Conduct inspections and implement corrective actions to address any deviations from quality requirements.
  • Troubleshooting:
    • Identify and resolve programming issues, equipment malfunctions, or deviations from quality standards.
    • Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshoot robotic welding systems to ensure continuous operation.
  • Process Optimization:
    • Analyze welding processes and identify opportunities for improvement in terms of speed, efficiency, and resource utilization.
    • Implement enhancements to optimize the overall welding process.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of robot programs, adjustments, and troubleshooting activities.
    • Generate documentation related to welding processes, parameters, and quality control.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with engineering and production teams to understand welding requirements for various components.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to implement and test robot programs in the manufacturing environment.
  • Training and Support:
    • Provide training to production staff on the use and maintenance of robotic welding systems.
    • Offer technical support to operators and address any questions or concerns related to welding robots.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to Terex safety policies & Zero Harm Culture, and Terex Way Values.
    • Ensure safe working conditions and regulatory compliance, including configuring emergency stops, establishing safety zones and implementing protocols to protect operators and prevent accidents.

What you'll bring

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2-year Associates Degree in Robotics, Automation, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Basic understanding of welding processes and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4-year technical degree in Engineering or Automation preferred.
  • Familiarity with robotic welding software and control systems.
    • Proven experience as a Welding Robot Programmer in a manufacturing setting.
    • Proficiency in programming and operating robotic welding systems.
    • Strong knowledge of welding processes, materials, and quality control standards.
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Requires the ability to train others and provide technical support.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements of the Job

Physical requirements of the job are classified as medium to heavy. Physical demand requirements are in excess of light work. Medium to heavy work is defined as:

  • 10 to 40 pounds of force frequently, may include pushing, pulling and lifting
  • 40 to 100 pounds of force occasionally with assistance of machinery or others to move objects
  • Ability to stand on concrete for 10+ hours per shift

The salary range for this position is $27.50 to $38.00 per hour.
