NOW HIRING SECURITY OFFICER IN CITY OF CARSON PAY RATE: $22.50 PER HOUR TWIC REQUIRED MUST BE ABLE TO LIFT 20LBS MIN CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS EXPERIENCE WITH PC OR TABLET IS A PLUS ACCESS CONTROL EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS We are seeking a reliable and professional Temporary Security Guard to support safety and security operations at an industrial refinery site. This position is responsible for maintaining a secure environment through access control, perimeter monitoring, patrols, and emergency response. The ideal candidate will be alert, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a high-risk, safety-sensitive environment. This is a temporary assignment with full-time hours and the possibility of variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. 1. Access Control for Trucks & TrailersVerify TWIC credentials and photo IDs of drivers entering the facility. Ensure only authorized trucks, trailers, and personnel are granted access. Log vehicle and driver information accurately, including license plates, trailer numbers, and cargo details. 2. Vehicle InspectionConduct visual inspections of incoming and outgoing trucks and trailers. Check for unauthorized items, contraband, or signs of tampering. Ensure seals and manifests match bill of lading or shipping documents. 3. Gate Operation & Traffic ManagementMonitor and manage inbound/outbound gate traffic to maintain a safe and organized flow. Operate electronic gate systems or manually open/close gates as needed. Direct truck drivers to designated loading, unloading, or staging areas. 4. TWIC Compliance & DocumentationConfirm that all individuals accessing secure areas hold valid TWIC cards. Maintain compliance with MTSA and facility-specific security protocols. Report expired, damaged, or suspicious TWIC cards to supervisors immediately. 5. Surveillance & ObservationMonitor CCTV systems and the physical surroundings of the truck entry/exit points. Remain alert for suspicious behavior, unsafe practices, or potential threats. Notify supervisors or law enforcement of any security violations or emergencies. 6. Communication & ReportingMaintain clear radio or phone communication with the control room, dispatch, and other security personnel. Complete detailed daily activity logs, incident reports, and visitor logs. Relay important information about truck movements or irregularities to site management or security leadership. 7. Safety & Emergency ResponseEnforce safety protocols for truck drivers while on facility grounds. Respond to incidents such as spills, fires, or vehicle accidents following emergency procedures. Assist with evacuation or lockdown procedures if necessary. 8. Customer Service & ProfessionalismGreet drivers and visitors professionally, providing clear directions and maintaining a courteous attitude. Represent the security team and the client facility with professionalism at all times.
Minimum Requirements: - Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
