Who We Are Looking For

The Sales Marketing team is an enablement arm of the Sales organization with a focus on supporting revenue growth across The Trade Desk. The Sales Marketing team partners with Sales and Client Service to provide best-in-class strategic growth stories, working cross-functionally with product, marketing, insights, research & insights, training, communications, and other teams to ensure alignment between collateral and The Trade Desk's capabilities, product features, roadmaps, advertising solutions and positioning within the broader AdTech ecosystem.

As the Senior Sales Marketing Manager, you will be focused on identifying and supporting our scaled business stories across North America and globally, providing dedicated partnership across a variety of topics that position us for revenue growth. Your role will be focused on integrating within assigned topic areas, pioneering bespoke, cross-category revenue-driving narratives that synthesize complex solutions, and clearly communicate The Trade Desk's value to both advertisers and agencies.

With this role, we are looking for someone who has a passion for driving vision and purpose, conducting long-term strategic planning and looking around corners to identify industry trends. Additionally, the role requires someone to work effectively across multiple constituencies to drive results both through individual efforts and coordinating broader team efforts. You are a strategic thinker, proactive, detail-oriented and data-driven with an eye for curating client-facing materials & will become a subject matter expert on The Trade Desk's platform. You embrace ambiguity and thrive in a dynamic, challenging, ever-changing environment and will be a key consultant to sales leadership and front-line sellers. You love marketing, you have an affinity for AdTech and Big Data, and you want to play an instrumental role in the future of advertising.

What You'll Be Doing



  • Strategic Partnership: Work with the Business Development and Client Services orgs, product marketing, marketing, inventory, Sales Marketing team members, and others, on in-market materials; project manage entire process from concept to completion.


  • Collateral Creation: Collaborate with the Sales Marketing team on the sales team's needs for new materials by meeting with sales leaders, Product Marketing, Marketing, Sales Strategy, Research & Insights and more


  • Internal Education: Partner with Sales Training and Product Marketing to develop and implement education sessions around key releases of materials to ensure messaging is consistent


  • Customer Advocacy: Become a consultant to internal stakeholders by understanding and sharing aggregated needs, relevant regional/competitive business dynamics, and a strong POV about The Trade Desk's positioning in the marketplace.


  • Team Mentorship: Support the continued expansion of the overall Sales Marketing team with team mentorship.


What You Bring To The Table



  • 6-8+ years of relevant experience in sales development, media planning, digital strategy, sales/corporate strategy or consulting; ideally within AdTech, the broader digital media industry, the television or streaming industry, at a SaaS company, or media consulting firm.


  • Strong relationship management skills; previous experience in a role where you've successfully built consensus cross-functionally and amongst both leadership and your peers.


  • Knowledge of AdTech ecosystem and/or programmatic industry preferred; comfortable with online advertising metrics and KPIs required.


  • Multi-dimensional, creative thinker: excellence at thinking analytically, strategically, and tactically; ability to formulate a cohesive, data-based, narrative while telling the story in a compelling and concise manner.


  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter, ambitious and scrappy; deal well with ambiguity and take initiative and ownership to get the job done.


  • Superior written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to articulate thoughts and ideas to internal and external stakeholders.


  • Team player who leads discussions; organically shares best practices and knowledge with others.


  • Quick learner able to grasp new technology and product changes.


  • Meticulous attention to detail and able to produce deliverables on-time at a very high bar.


  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year university preferred.

The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year. At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is
$103,200 $189,200 USD
