Stellar Solutions is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Systems Engineer to support Space Systems Command (SSC), Space Sensing Directorate in Boulder, CO. This position provides program management and project-level integration support in a dynamic, fast-paced environment encompassing research and development (R&D) and on-site support to critical Missile Warning, Missile Tracking, and Missile Defense (MW/MT/MD) space and ground tenant programs in the Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) domain. The selected candidate will interface directly and daily with the government customer and a diverse, integrated team of multi-disciplinary experts in OPIR program management and operations, software development, facilities and infrastructure to provide timely and accurate decision data and solutions to senior government leadership.



Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications

The ideal candidate will coordinate across the OPIR Tools, Applications and Processing laboratory (OPIR TAP Lab), Boulder Ground Innovation Facility (BGIF) and stakeholders to provide critical support for the government to formulate and execute leadership's R&D vision and program support vision. The ideal candidate will be an expert in cross-disciplinary integration, leadership communications, and action closure.

Responsibilities Include:

    Coordinate across project teams to develop and document integrated execution plans
  • Translate government vision and strategies into actionable tasks
  • Research data required to support government decisions and provide in a succinct, timely manner
  • Generate executive level communications - e.g. correspondence, briefings, point papers
  • A proactive approach to problem solving, action closure and timely reporting is a must
  • Consistently demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to work with senior military/government officials
  • Ability to work in an R&D lab environment with a broad cross-section of expertise, government stakeholders and companies
  • Proactive learning ability, a strong work ethic, and a high level of personal integrity

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field
  • At least 15 years experience in OPIR program management and operations
  • Experience in project level integration and stakeholder coordination
  • U.S. Citizen with Top Secret clearance and SCI eligibility


Desired Skills:

  • MS degree in a STEM field
  • Top Secret/SCI Clearance
  • Experience in government leadership roles within the space acquisition and operations community
  • Experience working with Intelligence Community (IC) stakeholders

Security Clearance & Other Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizen with Top Secret Clearance and with the ability to obtain SCI clearances
  • Position is located in Boulder, CO - Approximately 25% of the work can be performed remotely(hybrid schedule). Other Travel expected to be 10% or less.

Compensation:

The typical anual salary range for this position is approximately, USD $165,000 - $185,000. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to salary, this position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, profit sharing / retirement plan and other benefits (all in addition to annual base salary).



Deliverable(s)

Deliverables could be in the format of a report, software file, briefing, spreadsheet, or other document as directed by the Government, using government approved and/or mandated systems/software and processes governed by guidance/instructions/policy or direction. The nature of this work will, at times, require quick responses to stringent deadlines and always in a high quality, professional manner.
