Work Schedule:

This is a full-time, 100% FTE salaried position. The scheduled shifts are primarily Monday-Friday, day shifts with some off shifts and weekends. Hours may vary based on the needs of the department. You will work on-site primarily at American Family Children's Hospital located in Madison, WI.

Pay:
* Pay range is based on a full-time (100%) position.
* Salary is prorated based on FTE.

We are seeking a MSN prepared Registered Nurse (RN) to join our amazing team at American Family Children's Hospital as a Nursing Education Specialist (NES) to:

  • Facilitate and conduct the initial onboarding and continued professional development of nursing staff, with a focus in the pediatric operating room (OR) / intraoperative area and peds surgical pre/post and recovery areas.
  • Curriculum and program development to support the multi-specialty intraoperative and pre/post/PACU patients at the American Family Children's Hospital and within the surgical services service line. This will include collaboration across departments.
  • Assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive educational programs.
  • Participate in the promotion and delivery of new house wide initiatives.
  • Provide expertise and resources in the area of support; three years of surgical services and/or perioperative nursing experience including intra-operative nursing is highly preferred.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Nursing Required
  • Master's Degree in Nursing Education Preferred
Work Experience
  • 3 years of relevant clinical nursing experience Required
  • 3 years of relevant clinical nursing experience with position specific patient population Preferred
  • 3 years of experience providing orientation and education for nursing staff in clinical setting Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Upon Hire Required
  • National certification in relevant specialty Preferred
