Job Summary

The Production Supervisor (Team Leader) is accountable for achieving the People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cash and Cost (PSQDCC) targets through the disciplined and rigorous deployment of the Lean Operating Model. The Team Leader is accountable for attaining Operational Excellence across their designated area of responsibility, in line with the Performance Centre objectives. The Team Leader is accountable for creating a 'Great Place To Work' through developing and empowering first class Team Members and driving a culture of continuous improvement, safe working and open dialogue.

Job Responsibilities


  • Development of FAI documentation packages per AS9102



  • Lead a team of inspectors to deliver quality products in the allotted time frame.



  • Read blue prints, work orders, special instructions and other support documentation to perform inspections.



  • Use precision measuring equipment (such as micrometers and calipers)



  • Prepare and submit documentation of discrepant parts and follows up with customer to disposition of product.



  • Support Root Cause Analysis of discrepancy issues





  • Ability to inspect complex aircraft metal components, such as bulkheads.



  • At least two years of prior experience with coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and use of PCDMIS



  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing



  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint



  • Leading and developing their teams to understand the context, mechanics and the delivery of PSQDCC targets to meet customer and stakeholder commitmentsf



  • Ensuring the disciplined execution of Daily Management and Standardised work through the conscientious adherence to Leader Standard Work



Job Qualifications

Required:



  • High School Diploma required.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements.



Preferred:



  • GKN Experience
  • Aviation Repair Experience is strongly preferred.
  • Leadership capabilities.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Able to demonstrate competence to undertake key tasks within their designated work zone or those in zones within similar processes
  • Excellent performance as a Team member, demonstrating rigorous adherence to standardized work, and a track record of Kaizen implementation
  • Self-motivated by meeting and exceeding PSQDCC performance targets
  • The demonstrated ability to work with various stakeholders
  • Demonstrated potential to lead, engage, train and develop direct reports
  • An effective communicator and an influential team member
  • Experience working with a Lean Operating Model / Production System
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification by a reputable certifying body or benchmark company
