As the Director of Banquets at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, you will play a key role in delivering unforgettable experiences by maximizing the Banquet Department's profitability, providing exceptional and efficient service, and exceeding guests' expectations at every turn. Grand Geneva in Lake Geneva is a 1,300 acre, AAA Four Diamond resort and spa recognized as a Top Resort in the Midwest by Conde Nast Traveler. This award-winning, all-seasons destination features over 746 guest accommodations, the WELL Spa & Salon, two championship golf courses, fitness facilities, a ski hill and terrain park, and 9 unique food and beverage outlets.  - Oversee banquet operations to ensure top-quality food, beverage, and service while maintaining warm, hospitable guest relations.
 - Direct and train staff, ensuring departmental responsibilities are met and high professional standards are upheld.
 - Coordinate banquet service needs with food production and maintain effective communication across departments to exceed guest expectations.
 - Manage labor, costs, and budgets while maintaining accurate records of banquet functions and inventories.
 - Conduct departmental meetings and attend relevant hotel operations meetings to align with goals and policies.
 - Maintain cleanliness, maintenance, and safety standards, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
 - Recruit, induct, and evaluate staff performance, fostering a positive, supportive work environment.
 - Execute special projects and enforce operational policies and procedures to support hotel objectives.
 - Other duties ass assigned. 
 
 
What do you bring to the role? 
 - Minimum 5 years of banquet management experience; high school diploma required, hospitality degree preferred.
 - Proficient in food and beverage financial systems, controls, and Excel.
 - Passionate about hospitality with a customer service-driven mindset and ability to anticipate needs.
 - Strong team-building skills, promoting camaraderie and mutual trust through ethical and honest practices.
 - Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus.
 - Composed and professional under pressure, with flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
 - Physically able to stand, walk, and tour banquet areas for extended periods, as well as perform office tasks.
 - Dedicated to exceeding expectations and fostering a collaborative, guest-focused environment.
