What You'll Do

In this role, you will serve as an experienced individual contributor within a team, with the expectation that you will further develop your leadership, guidance, and mentoring skills. With minimal oversight from leadership, you will be responsible for supporting the goal of meeting scope, schedule, and delivery requirements. A UX Researcher contributes to the development of the program's research strategy and impacts the long-term goals of the program. You will also act as a UX generalist, working closely with the UX Designer to contribute to design work such as journey maps and wireframes. You may serve as the discipline's primary lead when working with stakeholders, and you will utilize strong influential skills to drive improvements in research processes and practices.

Primary Expectations

  • Lead cross-functional research efforts for team members and team leads
  • Plan, conduct, analyze, and share knowledge from research based on the team's questions and goals
  • Prioritize research projects based on team needs and goals, balancing research team capacity
  • Facilitate collaboration between researchers, product team members, and stakeholders
  • Utilize strong influential skills to build relationships with team members, government and company stakeholders, and program management
  • Navigate ambiguous requirements and environments to support delivery
  • Influence and communicate research strategy for the program
  • Contribute to design work, including discovery artifacts, user journey mapping, prototypes, wireframes, and content strategy
  • Strong skills in designing accessible user experiences
  • Identify risks and provide leadership with recommendations to mitigate them
  • Coach and mentor researchers, with a focus on providing actionable feedback that helps individuals grow within the research discipline
  • Participate in panel interviews and grading candidate homework
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience
  • Relevant years of experience may be substituted for education
  • Prior experience serving as a mentor to junior level team members
  • Extensive experience with research principles and relevant technologies
  • Understanding of a researcher's role on a cross-functional team
  • Experience with Mural and Figma, or similar research and design tools
  • Ability to obtain a public trust clearance
