The Opportunity:

Are you a strategic and technically adept marketing automation leader with a passion for leveraging cutting-edge technology to drive impactful customer experiences? We're seeking a Senior Manager, Marketing Automation to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you'll be instrumental in developing and executing our marketing automation strategy, with a sharp focus on integrating Artificial Intelligence to enhance journey orchestration and optimize funnel management.

You'll lead the design, implementation, and optimization of sophisticated, personalized customer journeys across various digital channels, ensuring seamless and highly effective engagement from initial awareness through to advocacy. This role is critical in maximizing our marketing impact, improving conversion rates, and contributing directly to Okta's global growth by putting Identity at the heart of digital interactions.

What You'll Do:

  • AI-Powered Marketing Automation Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for integrating AI and machine learning capabilities into our marketing automation ecosystem. This includes leveraging AI for predictive analytics in segmentation, dynamic content personalization, advanced lead scoring, and identifying optimal engagement times to enhance campaign effectiveness and efficiency. You'll work with insights from tools like 6sense to inform targeted automation.
  • Customer Journey Orchestration & Personalization: Design, build, and optimize sophisticated, multi-channel customer journeys that deliver personalized experiences at scale. You'll work with campaign managers to map out customer touchpoints, deliver relevant content and offers, and automate pathways based on user behavior and intent across email, in-app messaging, SMS, and other digital channels, ensuring alignment with Okta's identity-centric approach.
  • Funnel Management & Optimization: Own the end-to-end marketing automation funnel, from lead generation and nurture to conversion and retention. You'll continuously analyze funnel performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement data-driven strategies to improve conversion rates, shorten sales cycles, and increase customer lifetime value, directly contributing to business growth. This includes optimizing handoffs and sequences within sales engagement platforms like Outreach.
  • Reporting & Performance Analysis: Establish clear key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop robust reporting frameworks to measure the effectiveness of all marketing automation initiatives. You'll regularly analyze campaign performance, present insights, and provide data-backed recommendations for continuous optimization.
  • Testing & Optimization Leadership: Lead a rigorous A/B and multivariate testing strategy across all automated campaigns and journeys to identify top-performing elements, optimize conversion paths, and improve overall program efficacy.
  • Platform Management & Enablement: Oversee the utilization and health of our marketing automation platform(s) (e.g., Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud) and related integrations with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), ABM platforms like 6sense, and sales engagement tools like Outreach. You'll manage platform configuration, ensure data integrity, and contribute to developing user-friendly self-service capabilities for internal users.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with xDR, Marketing Operations, and other Marketing teams (e.g., Content, Demand Generation) to ensure seamless lead flow, consistent messaging, and integrated campaign execution across the customer journey, specifically aligning automation efforts with sales outreach strategies.

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in a dedicated marketing automation role, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity, demonstrating a strong focus on strategic planning and execution.
  • Platform Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with a leading marketing automation platform (e.g., Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, Pardot, Eloqua) and familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce). 6sense certification required.
  • AI/ML Proficiency: Demonstrated understanding of how AI and machine learning can be practically applied to marketing automation for personalization, optimization, and predictive insights. Experience with AI tools or features within marketing platforms is a significant plus.
  • Journey Orchestration Mastery: Proven ability to design, build, and optimize complex, multi-channel customer journeys that drive specific business outcomes and enhance the customer experience.
  • Funnel Optimization: Strong analytical skills with a track record of analyzing marketing funnel performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing data-driven strategies to significantly drive conversion and efficiency.
  • Reporting & Testing Acumen: Demonstrated ability to establish KPIs, create comprehensive reports, and lead robust A/B and multivariate testing programs to drive continuous improvement.
  • Tool Ecosystem Experience: Practical experience integrating and optimizing workflows between marketing automation platforms and complementary tools such as 6sense (ABM/intent data) and Outreach (sales engagement).
  • Data-Driven Mindset: Highly analytical and comfortable working with data to inform decisions, optimize campaigns, and clearly demonstrate ROI.
  • Technical Acumen: Solid understanding of HTML/CSS for email and landing page development, database management principles, and integration concepts.
  • Project Management: Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage resources effectively across multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at various levels.
  • Strategic & Innovative: A strategic mindset with a relentless focus on continuous improvement and a passion for driving innovation in marketing automation and operations within a B2B SaaS landscape.
