Job Title: HR Generalist
Location: Jefferson City, MO (On-site, Monday-Friday)
Compensation: $65,000-$70,000 annually
Schedule: Full-time, 5 days/week on-site

Overview:
A growing organization in Jefferson City is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable HR Generalist to join their team. This position will serve as a front-line resource for employees and support a variety of human resources functions, including benefits, onboarding, offboarding, compliance, and employee engagement. The ideal candidate is someone who is organized, responsive, and comfortable handling sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, onboarding, offboarding, and performance

  • Escalate complex or sensitive matters to the corporate HR team as appropriate

  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of employee files and HR records

  • Respond to employment-related questions from applicants, staff, and supervisors

  • Participate in disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations when needed

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations

  • Assist with the recruitment process, including posting jobs, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews

  • Support new hire onboarding and exit processes

  • Help coordinate and plan employee-focused initiatives, such as benefits enrollment, company events, and recognition programs

  • Draft and prepare company communications, including emails, memos, and letters

  • Enter and manage data across various systems accurately

  • Handle incoming calls and messages while promoting strong interoffice communication

  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 2+ years of relevant HR experience preferred

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Effective interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with professionalism and integrity

  • Solid understanding of employment laws and HR best practices

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
