About the Role:
The Director of Tax will be a key member of the Tax Team acting a generalist to work on strategic projects pertaining to the global taxation of Gartner's worldwide operations. In addition, will manage a team of 8-10 tax professionals across multiple tax disciplines. This highly visible position will work in a cross-functional capacity on advanced, mission-critical concepts.

What You'll Do

  • Lead special projects across all Tax domains (e.g., planning, compliance, reporting, risk management etc.).

  • Subject Matter Expert on select tax technical matters to support initiatives and MCPs.

  • Coach, mentor, establish and monitor goals, and other tasks associated with talent management.

  • Responsible for Global Tax Branding by managing our intranet site and working with our internal communication team to identify other branding and internal "promotional" opportunities

  • Manage monthly billing and budgeting process for the Global Tax Department; including ways to further automate and streamline the process

  • Plan virtual Tax Town Hall meetings and other in-person Global or Regional Tax Meetings

  • Continue to improve associate engagement with GTBSs initiatives such as training, utilization of licensed software, and Monday.com

  • Identify opportunities to drive efficiencies and/ or automate GTBS processes

  • Increase tax's business acumen by providing monthly business insights and identifying other opportunities to expand the team's knowledge of Gartner

  • Create an effective way to report on key KPIs to the Tax Leadership Team and other key stakeholders

  • Participate in GTBS leadership committee.

  • Ad hoc Tax Projects

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 10-15 years' experience working for a large public accounting firm or combination of public accounting and large multinational corporation

  • Experience managing a growing team of professionals in various locations.

  • Proven track record of project management

Desired

  • Advanced degree in taxation/law (e.g., MST, J.D.)

  • CPA qualification

  • Degree in Project Management or L.L.M.

  • Experience/proficiency with automation/tax solutions, e.g., CorpTax, Oracle HFM/EPM, Alteryx, PowerBi

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 116,000 USD - 164,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
