Position Summary |
The Department of Radiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a full-time
ABR and neuroradiology
CAQ certified (or eligible) neuroradiologist. The ideal candidate will be proficient in interpreting complex diagnostic neuroradiology studies, including advanced
MRI and CT of the brain, head, neck, and spine. Our high-volume practice encompasses a wide range of adult (80-85%) and pediatric (15-20%) cases.
UNC is a Level 1 Trauma Center, a Comprehensive Stroke Center, and has been ranked No. 1 for
ENT in the state, providing exposure to complex and diverse head and neck pathology. The Neuroradiology Division works closely with colleagues in Neurointerventional Radiology, Emergency Radiology, and Pediatric Radiology, as well as with other disciplines including Oncology, Neurology, Radiation oncology, Neuro-ophthalmology, and Neurosurgery.
Responsibilities for this position include supervising fellows and residents, as well as overseeing basic fluoroscopic spine procedures. A demonstrated research record and an interest in mentoring trainees on academic projects are highly desirable. The successful candidate will join a collegial team and benefit from a wealth of clinical, educational, and research opportunities. They will also have access to state-of-the-art equipment, including a recently deployed photon-counting detector CT scanner. Salary and benefits are highly competitive. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
MD or equivalent,
ABR and Neuroradiology
CAQ certified (or eligible). |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Applicants should be well versed in all aspects of neuroradiology and head and neck imaging, including CT and advanced
MRI sequences. They should also be able to supervise and assist trainees performing fluoroscopic lumbar punctures and myelography. |
