This is a critical leadership role as Sechan continues to expand operations across a wide variety of Programs and Contracts. This role is key to scaling Sechan's operational excellence, offering the individual an opportunity to take full ownership of various processes while driving measurable impact across a growing business. This individual will support and grow the One Sechan, One Team culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement. The Senior Manager will be responsible for implementing manufacturing policies and programs that guide our facility in maintaining and improving its competitive position and profitability. The individual will oversee Manufacturing operations and have direct ownership of the production deliverables for all Manufacturing areas including; Production Assembly, Production Test, and Manufacturing Engineering at the highest level. This individual provides leadership and establishes and maintains initiatives in the areas of continuous improvement, process development, employee development, corporate policy development and flexible solutions management that delivers measurable results in maintaining sustainable financial growth. This is a highly visible role within a growing business that serves and protects the men and women of the Armed Services. Supervisory Responsibilities: * Lead and coordinate with managers and supervisors on the day-to-day operations to ensure that Sechan delivers added value to its customers, while meeting and exceeding financial objectives. * Develop and maintain a skilled workforce through timely coaching and feedback, cross-training, and employee development. * Maintain a sound organizational development plan by establishing policies to drive retention, attract top talent and ensure adequate development of future leaders through succession planning and training initiatives. * Develop, implement and execute on strategic plans and financial goals across the operational landscape to meet deliverables and drive continuous improvement. * Enable a culture of ownership and accountability within the Operations Team to embody our One Sechan, One Team culture. Position Responsibilities: * Provide leadership and development to the team and create an engaging environment with clear responsibilities, defined goals and objectives, and visibility to weekly progress reporting. * In partnership with the Vice President of Operations, is responsible for the annual budget, including capital expenditures, and directs preparation of cost control reports, cost estimates, labor, and facilities requirements forecasts. * Leverage knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Safety, and Quality to enhance delivery and increase efficiencies to reduce cost. Actively participate in the Corrective Action Board, Lean Steering Committee and continuous improvement projects. * Improve on established corporate metrics related to product quality acceptance at test and inspection, and on-time customer deliveries. Take corrective action as needed. * Participate and interface with various cross-functional teams to manage the manufacturing schedule and resources to maximize customer satisfaction. * Develops and coordinates the daily workflow through the department and adjusts workflow and resources to meet manufacturing priorities and deadlines. Provides effective time management of employee scheduling to ensure an equitable distribution of hours so employees are not over worked or underutilized. * Provides timely and effective communication to the appropriate team members when obstacles are unable to be resolved and are preventing manufacturing operations from continuing and/or are disrupting the manufacturing timelines. * Utilizes various visual and communication techniques and systems such as visual job board and hold shelf procedures as well as direct verbal and email communication. Maintain charts establishing cycle time and quality goals and build schedules for the area/cell. * Attends and participates in production meetings to ensure workflow is aligned with company and customer needs. * Serve on the management team as a trusted advisor and partner with the Executive team to develop and meet the company's mission and strategic goals. Ensure that the operations functions are in alignment with the plan. * Perform other duties as assigned to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of this organization. Skills & Abilities: * Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a participative, team management approach embracing organizational empowerment. * Strong numerical and analytic reasoning capability. * Well-developed written and oral communications skills. * Good interpersonal skills with the ability to get along with a diverse workforce and interface with all levels of the organization. * Strong organizational and project management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities that can change quickly. * Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, and databases. * Demonstrated ability to react quickly to situations and apply good judgment and problem-solving skills * Proven knowledge of electrical and electromechanical assembly and test operations * Proficiency with ERP systems, and experience maintaining production control in a regulated environment. * Understanding of AS9100, IPC-A-610 and other compliance requirements. * Ability to interpret technical documentation-BOMs, travelers, schematics, and wiring diagrams. * A calm, clear, and assertive leadership style-focused on process, people, and performance. Qualifications: * BS/BA in related field or equivalent relevant experience. * Minimum of 10 years of progressive product integration management experience in a high reliability manufacturing environment. Experience with manufacturing processes and procedures. * Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance. Work Environment: * Production Environment: Requires physical capability to work in a production environment up to 9 hours a day including; sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities including; close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus * Be available during core business hours (1st shift). Occasional off-shift hours may also be required to provide support to operations. * 9/80 work schedule. * Occasional travel may be required. * Office located in Lititz, PA, with occasional visited to Lancaster facility. |
