Process Development Engineer II

Develop cost effective, efficient, and high-quality process build instructions for mechanical & electrical assemblies. Interface with pre-production and production cross-functional teams to ensure developed processes, tools and equipment produce a production-ready product.

Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for Process Development Engineer II: $70k - $80k

Pay commensurate with experience.

Process Development Engineer II Responsibilities Include:

• Develop Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI).

• Create manufacturing routers and Bills of Materials (BOMs) in an ERP & MES system.

• Ensures technical drawings, specifications, work instructions and test processes meet customer & company requirements.

• Interacts with customers to obtain and provide technical information.

• Create reports and status project updates.

• Create labor standard hours/Time-Standards.

• Interpret engineering and technical information.

• Creates and maintains new design data.

• Supports implementation/evolution of ERS, DPD and MBD.

• Supports Engineering & Manufacturing technology roadmap.

• Research and reviews specifications for RFQs.

• Performs tooling reviews and capability analysis.

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Process Development Engineer II Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and at least 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Advanced knowledge, skills and understanding of the principles and practice of engineering.

• Able to identify and resolve pre-production issues.

• Experience with 3D CAD software to interpret model-based definitions and digital product designs. Solidworks or CATIA experience preferred.

• General mechanical assembly analysis, testing and qualification experience.

• Mechanical assembly component selection and qualification experience.

• Knowledge of aerospace specifications and common industry practices both in commercial and military aerospace sectors.

• Capability to solve complex design problems with minimal supervision.

• Strong ability to work with teams with a proven ability to effectively interact and collaborate.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up environment.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and ERP/MRP systems.

• Excellent written and communication skills.

• Strong sense of personal accountability and drive to succeed.

• Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus.

• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
