What to Expect

Tesla is looking to hire a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to contribute to the analysis and development of potting and dispense processes for our cutting-edge battery products. In this role you will drive technological advancement in this discipline as part of a small, specialized team. Battery development is at the heart of our company, and this is an exciting opportunity to work directly on the central challenges with electric vehicles - battery cost and performance. Tesla is a demanding and fast-paced environment where you will work with a highly motivated team on extremely challenging projects.


What You'll Do
  • Investigate candidate potting and dispense process strategies for new high voltage battery products
  • Down-select applied dispense methods and technologies
  • Provide potting and dispense Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to product designers
  • Validate and optimize processes from early prototype builds through full volume production
  • Drive proof-of-concept to green light new and novel methods, technologies, and suppliers
  • Evolve the potting and dispense knowledge base through standards and benchmarking

What You'll Bring
  • 3+ years of engineering or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience developing and implementing one of more dispense processes and equipment in high-volume production (expansion potting, sealants, form-in-place gaskets, structural adhesives, other - both low and high viscosity as well as single and multiple components)
  • Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials, or equivalent experience
