Job Details:

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for executing complex programs on-site, including aircraft scheduled maintenance, structural modifications, system upgrades, on-the-job training, and assisting with aircraft depot setup.

The primary role will be to maintain customer satisfaction and manage on-site work while ensuring adherence to program metrics. This role requires expertise in aircraft general maintenance practice, advanced structural repairs, and extensive proficiency in these areas to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Initial Program Planning

* Review program proposals to ensure technical accuracy, feasibility, and completeness.

* Assist in developing the technical requirements for subcontractor Statements of Work. Evaluate subcontractor proposals proposing changes as necessary and developing an achievable plan.

* Assist the Program Manager in developing the work breakdown structure and timelines.

* Lead site surveys as the S3 representative ensuring effective and appropriate communication between the customer and S3's subcontractors. Will be responsible for arranging proper

transportation to/from the site and ensuring survey schedule is maintained.

2. Daily management of the worksite:

* Manage the quality of work performed by customers and/or third-party contractors, ensuring that all work meets contract requirements and objectives and compliance with standards of quality and compliance.

* Ensure the onsite portion of the program, including management of subcontractors, is keeping on task to meet contractual deadlines, maintaining effective program cost control, and meeting contract scope.

* Conducts daily/weekly meetings with subcontractors, and potentially customers, to plan the day and week discussing any potential challenges that might impact schedule, cost, and/or scope.

* Ensure adherence to aerospace quality standards, safety regulations, and standard industry practices at the worksite.

* Communicates effectively between the customer, the Milwaukee program manager, and the on-site contractors properly representing S3 at all times in a pleasant and professional manner.

* Effectively works to resolve on-site problems with the sub-contractor and effectively communicate program delays to the customer with proposed solutions.

* Develops and provides regular reports to the Milwaukee program manager and the customer as required.

* Provide informal coaching and mentoring of the site staff.

3. Manage internal and external communication during program execution:

* Work with customers to define and formally request scope changes.

* Collaborate with the program manager to mitigate any significant risks/issues.

JOB DESCRIPTION

* Manage day-to-day issues with contractors, escalate any issues that require changes to the Statement of Work (SOW).

4. Be the subject matter expert in aircraft general maintenance, structural repairs, and aircraft structural modifications:

* Continuously monitor industry news, trends, technology, relevant aircraft bulletins and directives.

* Provide the sales team with technical input and answers as required.

* Provide formal training when requested.

* Provide support to sales in a technical support role during Customer visits.

Requirements:

1. 5+ years' hands-on experience in heavy aircraft structural repairs and general aircraft maintenance

2. Associate's degree with Airframe & Powerplant certification.

3. International and domestic travel up to 75% or 3 weeks without return trips (monthly) 50% (annually).

4. Expert in aircraft drawings and technical data including USAF technical order, USN NAVAIRs, and US Army technical manuals.

5. Experience in customer relationship management.

6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

7. Ability to make decisions and solve problems under pressure.

8. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Project.

9. Fluent in American English

10. Desired: Previous experience as a heavy maintenance supervisor.

11. Desired: Previous experience with C130 general maintenance and structural repairs.

12. Desired: experience with AS 9120 and/or ASA-100.

13. Desired: Degree or Certification in Structural Engineering.

14. Desired: Proficient speaking French and Spanish
