You may have also acquired the following skills:



  • Supervision / Leadership experience; Project Engineering or Project Management experience.
  • Familiarity with plants systems design and thermal-hydraulic analyses, including experience with software such as ANSYS-Fluent, AFT Fathom, RELAP5.
  • Nuclear Industry experience and/or previous utility plant experience, including familiarity with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, supporting NRC RAIs, relief requests, or related submittals, and working with the government (e.g., DOE and DOD).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate and work across various Engineering organizations.

Your Opportunity

This full-time role is about making an impact on people's lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a Thermal-Hydraulics Engineering Supervisor in Lynchburg, VA (remote work will also be considered), you will be part of the proven team in the IB-PE Business Line in the Installed Base Business Unit. The Thermal-Hydraulics Team is responsible for the thermal-hydraulic analysis of plant systems and components, including Primary Loop and Balance-of-Plant (BOP) systems and components. Expertise within the group include flow modeling and hydraulic analysis, fluid transient analysis, water hammer evaluation, CFD modeling, flow-induced vibration analysis, and advanced software development. The Supervisor provides daily front-line supervision, leadership, and advanced technical support for a team of engineers. Your scope of work typically includes planning and scheduling work, supervising workflow, and adherence to budget. The role supervises the execution of engineering processes, reviews progress, and updates management, as needed. The Supervisor will also be responsible for conducting staff appraisals.

  • Monitors goals, objectives, and standards of performance for assigned team members.
  • Works interactively with customers and clients to develop strong relationships.
  • Researches and assesses best practices, proposing methods, and improvements. Supports Operational Excellence initiatives.
  • Works on special projects, as directed.

Your Total Rewards Package

The range of base salary for the position is between $97,000 - $131,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
