Description

Position Overview

The Manager of HR Operations oversees the various processes, policies, and workflows in the department and ensures they are cost-effective and efficient by supervising the HR department's day-to-day administrative tasks. The tasks include maintaining employee files, implementing new HR policies, improving employee relations, and overseeing recruitment, selection, and onboarding. This position also manages the strategies around workflows and business processes in the college's ERP, Workday. This position manages systems and processes; it does not have any direct supervision of staff.

Position Responsibilities & Functions:

Operational Management



  • Manage department workflows and processes to ensure they are efficient and cost effective.
  • Assess current pay practices and provide recommendations.
  • Maintain job descriptions and organization structure in systems.
  • Assist with updates and revisions to employee handbook as needed.
  • Manage the college's visa process, including OPT and H1-B candidates/employees
  • Advise on the budgeting process, making recommendations, and pulling reports as necessary.
  • Answer HR-related questions and help communicate policies, benefits, and practices to employees.
  • Maintain and keep up on filing systems and record retention requirements.
  • Oversee employee data management processes to ensure that data is secure and maintained consistent with college policies and privacy regulations.
  • Complete special project work.


Employee Relations



  • Meet with employees and managers to resolve issues or advise on procedures and policies governing disciplinary actions and other employee relations matters.
  • Participate in training related to Title IX investigations and conduct investigations as necessary.
  • Respond to complaints from outside agencies and participate in employee relations investigations, conduct exit interviews, and maintain files.
  • Monitor and maintain the performance management process, including performance evaluation forms.
  • Train managers and supervisors on the effective and legal use of the performance management process.
  • Assist managers with employee relations issues, including performance appraisals, coaching, performance improvement plans, and terminations.
  • Maintains confidentiality when working with high-profile, sensitive information.



Talent Acquisition



  • Advise managers on recruitment and selection strategies. Interview candidates and advise on selection.
  • Manage Dunwoody Immersive staffing and facilitate the adjunct/overload process.
  • Manage the facilitation of New Employee Orientation/Onboarding for incoming employees.
  • Manage job classification program, accurately and legally defining employee job duties as exempt and/or non-exempt, according to the Fair Labor Standards Act guidelines.



Power User for Workday



  • Responsible for partnering with the Power User Lead in defining application requirements and use cases, testing application functionality, educating, and training end-users, and identifying application enhancements that add value to Dunwoody.
  • Maintain in-depth departmental process/application expertise and work to effectively communicate with the Power User Lead and departmental team members.
  • Act as a primary point of contact between Power User Lead and department members to provide feedback and promote continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years working in Human Resources
  • 2+ years direct experience with Workday HCM and/or Recruiting
  • HR-related credentials, which could include

    • Bachelor's degree in human resources
    • SHRM-CP
    • PHR/SPHR


  • Experience in various HR functions such as

    • Employment & Labor Law
    • Employee Relations
    • Training & Development
    • HRIS Systems and Data Management
    • Performance Management Processes
    • Policy Development and Implementation


  • Excellent computer skills including experience with running reports and data manipulation in Excel
