Setting: Not 100% Onsite


Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm (evenings and weekends as needed)

Job Description Summary:


The Coordinated Entry System (CES) Faith Based Coordinator (FBRC), under the direction of the Senior Director of CES and Community Engagement, provides leadership and support to systems alignment initiatives between the faith-based community in each SPA and the Coordinated Entry System (CES). The FBRC is responsible for supporting and enhancing the connections between faith-based organizations (FBOs) and CES service providers through mutual working relationships, resourcing, and support for existing initiatives. The FBRC represents the Coordinated Entry System and the commitment to align and coordinate its resources to ensure people experiencing homelessness quickly return to stable and permanent housing, and people at risk of homelessness utilize services, interventions, and support to prevent homelessness. Through partnerships with FBOs, faith-homelessness collaboratives and workgroups, and with oversight provided by the LAHSA Faith-Based Coordinator, FBRCs will identify and implement strategies for enhancing collaboration and improve coordination between CES, mainstream systems, and faith-based organizations.



Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Develop and maintain relationships with faith leaders and religious organizations across diverse traditions.
  • Coordinate interfaith events, workshops, and service projects within the larger community.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between the social service providers and faith-based partners.
  • Maintain FBO Outreach and Engagement Database records, prepare reports, and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Lead initiatives to pilot and implement new strategies that improve access to the Coordinated Entry System (CES) and strengthen connections with the faith-based community.
  • Participate in community forums regarding the intersection of homelessness and the faith-based community.
  • Support SPA Regional Coordination efforts and collaborative relationships with FBOs to strengthen service delivery for homeless services in each region.
  • Provide support to existing and prospective CES Participating Agencies and Faith Based Organizations through strategic coordination, training and presentations, as well as technical assistance regarding best practices.
  • Facilitate monthly meetings in SPA 4 for faith-based organizations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the CES System including interim guidance, system components, best practices in homeless services, and community resources within each SPA regions.
  • Maintain a working understanding of other LAHSA department roles, identify cross-functional support, and engage with other departments as necessary to accomplish system goals.
  • Represent The People Concern at community meetings, religious gatherings, and public forums.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Job Description Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in theology, religious studies, social work, community development, or a related field or a minimum of two years of full-time experience working with the homeless, preferably those living with mental illness and/or substance addictions
  • Experience in community outreach, ministry, or nonprofit program coordination
  • Familiarity with the doctrines, beliefs, and practices of multifaith tradition represented
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and across various faith traditions
  • Organizational and administrative skills, including reporting and evaluation
  • Able to work in a high tolerance Harm Reduction model with clients who have multiple barriers
  • Valid CA Driver's license, reliable car, auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record.



Job Description Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities (especially in diverse communities)
  • Counseling or pastoral care experience
  • Knowledge of local community resources and networks
  • Strong background or experience with Microsoft Office and Excel



Job Description Work Environment:


  • Field (may need to travel) and indoor office environment.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend; occasionally lift or carry up to 35 lbs.
  • On occasion walk or drive to different local sites
  • Will necessitate working in busy and loud environments
  • Will be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise and odor
  • May need to bend, stoop, twist, and sit throughout the day
