Position Summary:
The
People Operations Specialist is a part of the People Operations Team and will
ensure efficient, effective, knowledgeable HR services to provide guidance and
solutions related to HR inquiries from the university community. This position
is responsible for facilitating and triaging HR inquiries including employee
life cycle changes and general HR administration to ensure services are
delivered efficiently and effectively. The People Operations Specialist will
build and maintain effective relationships with other team members within Human
Resources to ensure tools and resources are up to date, and to identify
opportunities to increase effectiveness of HR services.

Essential Functions:
-Reviews,
validates and processes transactions associated with the employee life cycle
(new hires, promotions, transfers, secondary payments, etc.).
-Answers
front-line internal and external customer inquiries, prioritizing customer
service in every interaction.
-Creates and
maintains knowledge articles for and/or contributes to the HR Knowledge Base based
on common customer inquiries and identified needs.
-Documents all
contacts and outcomes utilizing HR service management software; routes cases to
appropriate HR team and upholds HR service level agreements.
-Contributes
to HR technology implementation and process improvement efforts as needed.
-Maintains a high
level of discretion and professionalism with handling confidential materials.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
-Bachelor's Degree.
-0-3 years in a Human Resources role.
-At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites
may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience
specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Salary Information:
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the annual salary range for this position is $60,000-$67,000 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
