Overview

The Manager of Philanthropic Prospect Development provides Philanthropy staff and hospital leadership with high-quality and strategic analysis on individual, corporate, and foundation prospects to help meet fund raising goals and successfully acquire support for the projects, programs, and priorities of the hospital.

The ideal candidate will be an established prospect development professional.

Responsibilities

Prospect Research

    Identify, research, and evaluate individual, corporate, and foundation prospects in collaboration with Philanthropy colleagues, contributing to the cultivation and solicitation of major and planned gifts, special project funding, and annual/sustaining support for the hospital.
  • Leverage prospect research tools, systems, and methodologies to advance philanthropic initiatives.
  • Integrate data from screening services into Raiser's Edge NXT, including prospect capacity and inclination ratings.
  • Develop detailed prospect biographies/profiles and other customized deliverables by synthesizing data from RE NXT, as well as internal and public sources.
  • Apply strategic prospecting techniques to identify new major and planned gift opportunities, contributing to robust campaign and program prospect pools.
  • Collaborate creatively with team members in annual, volunteer, and in-kind giving to aid in the design of seamless donor journeys and drive increased engagement across all areas of Philanthropy.
  • Support special projects, data analysis, and enrichment initiatives aimed at expanding the pipeline of qualified donor leads.
  • Monitor and manage the Prospect Research queue.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality standards in handling constituent information according to the Apra Code of Ethics.

Data Management

  • Ensure all prospect research findings are accurately and thoroughly documented in RE NXT.
  • Follow established data entry standards to maintain consistency, accuracy, and integrity in RE NXT.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of daily activities (SOPs) and periodically review to ensure alignment with current practices and standards.
  • Contributes to the Operations team by supporting database integrity, prospect development, and related infrastructure initiatives.

Prospect Management

  • Provides back-up support for collecting and entering prospect and opportunity management data into RE NXT, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

Experience with the following systems/concepts preferred:

RE NXT, Microsoft Teams, Smartsheet, Lean Project Management

Experience with the following vendors a plus:

Blackbaud Target Analytics, iWave, Windfall, Lexis Nexis, Cause IQ

Ideal candidate will be:

    • 5-7 years of experience in prospect development.
    • Be committed to acquiring new skills and continuously adapt to the ever-evolving prospect development landscape.
    • Demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning and adaptability in the evolving field of prospect development. Active participation in Apra is a plus.
    • Possess effective time management skills and a commitment to work efficiency.
    • Skilled in triaging and addressing the dynamic needs of a high-functioning team.
    • Demonstrates strong customer service skills while consistently upholding established policies and procedures.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years' experience in fund raising or philanthropy practices
  • APRA affiliation desired

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $31.02/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.



Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is entirely remote or work-from-home. The person hired must live in the Kansas City metro area and may attend on-site meetings, as scheduled.
