Sales Engineer Tungsten and Carbide Powders

Location - Remote role (must be located in the United States and East of the Mississippi)

Job Summary

The AMS Sales Engineer sells tungsten and tungsten carbide products, mostly in powder form, to industrial consumers. The Sales Engineer builds multiple relationships across the clients' functions to understand their needs and provide sales and service solutions. Required is the experience and skill to identify opportunities, define solutions, close deals, facilitate contracts, manage key accounts, and grow new opportunities. The territory is primarily eastern US, selling US domestic production. Tungsten is a US designated Critical Mineral, aligning US produced supply with demand for strategic supply chains and mitigated trade risks.

Key Job Responsibilities



  • Actively pursue new customers and opportunities in a defined territory. Manage the sales process from proposal to close.
  • Manage and grow existing relationships with customers.
  • Leverage CRM and sales enablement tools to document customer interactions (i.e. calls, emails, tasks & report preparation).
  • Collaborate with inside sales to develop small customer opportunities into key accounts.
  • Gather and communicate customer and competitor insights.
  • Negotiate pricing, agreements, programs.
  • Collaborate internally with technical experts and team to win new business.
  • Customer problem solving through effective communication and teamwork with internal & external stakeholders.
  • In conjunction with application support, engage in technical discussions with potential and current clients through demonstrations and presentations.
  • Managing price changes to customers in a dynamic metals market.


Requirements



  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years professional sales experience required in combination with a bachelor's degree OR 5-8 years professional sales experience required in combination with associates/ technical degree.
