- Leads a variety of assignments, clarifying objectives.
- Determines the principles and techniques to be employed.
- Coordinates the preparation of tax returns and examines accounts.
- Calculates taxes owed according to prescribed rates, laws, and regulations by necessary deadlines.
- Cooperates with tax advisors to optimize tax burdens.
- Manages or contributes to the preparation of Financial statements and tax declarations.
- May act as the first accountable point of contact for tax authorities.
- Independently researches and analyzes key issues.
- Provides financial accounting staff with technical tax advice and assistance.
- Prepares reports and studies for management as requested.
- Corresponds and negotiates with tax officials at a tactical level.
- Expected to integrate processes and results from other workflows and disciplines to develop and accountably propose appropriate and effective solutions for significant parts of the solutions.
- They integrate analysis, development, testing, and implementation.
- They interpret and functionally influence policy and guidelines in their area of business/technology, and develop processes and systems to deliver functional objectives.
- They typically plan their work according to targets agreed upon, within a quarterly to an annual cycle, by integrating resources in a project-driven environment.
- They provide functional advice and guidance to colleagues and customers.
- Transfers and applies know-how to/in various contexts.
- Improves existing processes and approaches.

Required Skills / Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with Agency tax setup (SUI, state, local).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with state family disability plans.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax adjustments and corrections.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quarter-end corrections and reviews.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Excel.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in auditing tax data and setup.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Master's domain.
- Experience with Dayforce.
- Familiarity with Puerto Rico tax regulations.
- Understanding of taxation rules for remote workers.
- Positions that need senior professional expertise, with extensive functional, commercial, or technical knowledge in an area of competence.

- Experience with ticketing systems (ServiceNow).
