Position Summary:

The Checks & Straightening- Level 3 Operator is an advanced-level role responsible for performing complex metal forming and straightening processes with limited supervision. This position requires expert knowledge of hand tools, strong troubleshooting abilities, and the ability to ensure parts meet customer and quality requirements. The Level 3 Operator also provides leadership and technical guidance to lower-level team members and serves as a key point of contact between the C&S team, engineering, and production management.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced checks and straightening operations on aluminum, titanium, and steel components across various feature types (flat, angle, contour, etc.) while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
  • Identify and resolve complex forming issues, including stress risers and potential non-conformances.
  • Degree parts to meet specified angular tolerances.
  • Provide guidance, support, and training to Level 1 and Level 2 operators.
  • Perform first article inspections and support the development of new processes as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Required Skills:

  • Must be able to perform hot straightening based on customer specifications
  • Advanced knowledge of manual and powered hand tools, including wrenches, hammers (all types), protractors, lead bars (C&S), scales, and straight edges.
  • Strong understanding of aluminum, titanium, and steel material properties.
  • Ability to "degree" parts to meet angular tolerances.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting complex blueprints and specifications.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in visual inspection and dimensional verification using feeler gauges, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision tools.
  • Solid shop math skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience

Level of Education:

  • GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $28.00 to $34.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 104 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
