Position Summary
Organization: Ronald McDonald House Charities of New Mexico Location: 1011 Yale Blvd NE Albuquerque, NM 87106 An Off-Campus Work-Study Position - MUST have a Work-Study Award This is an off-campus work study position with the Ronald McDonald House located at 1011Yale Blvd NE. The work for this position will take place at UNM Hospital or Presbyterian Hospital. This position requires a work study award. GENERAL FUNCTIONS: The Family Room Coordinator is responsible for creating an atmosphere of hospitality for families and volunteers. They maintain a compassionate presence while enforcing policy adherence during open hours. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist any first time visitors to register using the Family Room Register. Assist returning visitors to sign in and out as needed. Verify wristbands of visitors. Ensure guest logs are maintained and prepare monthly usage reports Oversee data entry to ensure that the database is up to date and accurate Review updates and make sure the manual is up to date Make sure room is maintained and report if there are problems Track inventory of supplies, food etc. Let Director know if supplies are needed. Monitor visitors during usage of the room Maintain sign up logs for laundry room and computer use Keep kitchen stocked with food and drinks Distribute laundry soap to families as needed Maintain cleanliness and well-being of facility (sweep, vacuum and dust) Assist families with any questions and/or concerns

Essential Physical Functions: Negotiate Stairs - Lift 25 pounds - Bend and Stoop Hours: Shifts are 3 hours, Monday-Friday starting at 9am and as late as 6pm. Weekends, shifts are available from 9am-3pm. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Knowledge of general office procedures with data base management skills Respect for diverse cultures and ability to work and interact with all types of people Ability to maintain confidentiality Effective problem solving and decision-making skills Flexible approach to working hours Respect for diverse cultures and ability to work and interact with all types of people. Ability to organize time and work independently Must have a friendly and approachable demeanor. Must be able to communicate clearly in English; bilingual skills are helpful but not required.
