Summary
A packer at our Sonoco Reels & Plugs facility performs the necessary functions to pack and prepare products for shipment. The primary function of this position is to increase productivity and maintain safety standards in the workplace.

Responsibilities:
* Safely move materials by hand or using material handling equipment (MHE) such as carts, pallet jacks, and fork trucks.
* Place materials and finished products in storage areas, containers, or on conveyors.
* Ensure compliance with established internal control procedures (e.g., ISO 9001).
* Maintain accurate records and logbooks.
* Report defective materials or equipment.
* Generally report accidents, injuries, or unsafe working conditions.
* Load/unload trucks & carriers manually and/or using hoists.
* Apply identification labels to products and packages.
* Pack and unpack materials, products, or supplies.
* Perform simple repair and/or maintenance tasks.

Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
* Ability to read and write English language.
* Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
* Good communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Basic computer skills required.
