As a Manager, Strategic Sourcing,you will be responsible for contributing via all aspects of site Strategic Sourcing and Procurement processes. Analyze expenditure base, identify cost reduction projects, perform market analyses, recommend short- and long-term sourcing strategies with defined risk/benefit analysis, and conduct competitive sourcing events for materials, services, and equipment. Responsible for Cash Flow, RM Inventory, DPO, and Continuity of Supply. Penetrate Site functional areas within Manufacturing, Distribution, R&D, Facilities and Administration entities to be seen as valuable member of team in pursuit of efficient spend, sustained supply and high-quality results for the business.at our Irvine, California location. In this role, a typical day will include:

• Analyze expenditure base, identify cost reduction projects, perform market analyses.

• Recommend short- and long-term sourcing strategies a. With defined risk/benefit analysis considering overall business requirements

• Conduct comprehensive sourcing events for materials, services, and equipment.

• Accountable for Cash Flow, Raw Materials Inventory & Continuity of Supply

• Demonstrate value to internal customers (i.e. Manufacturing, Distribution, R&D/MS&T, Materials, Facilities & Administration entities) by becoming a valuable member of the team in pursuit of efficient spend, sustained supply and high quality.

• Provide analytical, forward thinking and project management leadership for all site sourcing initiatives a. Considering all business elements and cross functional implications.

• Establish & Monitor Material Supply Agreements, Purchase Agreements & SAP Pricing Agreement Attachments. Initiate Requests for Information (RFI) & Requests for Proposal (RFP) for Direct Materials, Service Contracts, Capital Equipment & Machinery as required.

• Conduct negotiations with suppliers.

• Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures, ethical practices and adherence to relevant laws and regulations.

• Facilitate contract execution and proper filing.

• Support suppliers and internal customers across the cross-functional procurement process (i.e. Liaison), maintaining strong internal customer and external supplier relationships.

Preferred qualifications:

• International Supplier Management: Experience in collaborating with suppliers across regions such as Asia Pacific, Indonesia, and Europe, ensuring smooth collaboration and supply chain efficiency.

• Industry Expertise: Background in electronics, optics, medical precision instruments, and plastic models, with hands-on exposure to industry-specific requirements.

• Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms, fostering beneficial partnerships while optimizing costs and quality.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)

• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

• 5 Years of Relevant Experience
