This position is responsible for the delivery and assessment of effective technical training programs to personnel within the Service Division for the northern and southern regions to support regional growth activities. The incumbent is also responsible for maintaining the viability of the training curriculum and assisting and leading lower level training staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts technical training to develop desired knowledge, skills and behaviors.
  • Acts as subject matter expert for technical training coursework, evaluates effectiveness of coursework, on-line reference materials and procedural documentation and make revisions as needed.
  • Evaluates participant reaction and experience and adjusts delivery methods while in progress.
  • Provides ongoing coaching and support to training staff for technical training issues.
  • Conducts audience analysis to assess prerequisite skills, learner characteristics, learning styles, delivery preferences and ability to apply new skills after training.
  • Assists with development and customization of training materials, on-line reference materials and procedural documentation.
  • Assists with coordination of course pilots and makes recommendations for revisions to design and course materials.
  • Manages administrative responsibilities.
  • Evaluates overall program effectiveness.
  • Communicates training results to appropriate level of employees.
  • Conducts business and learner needs analysis.
  • Assists Lead Classroom Instructor with in the development of trainers and through orientation, mentoring/coaching, classroom observations/feedback, informal training sessions and cross-training plans.
  • Provides input and feedback to the Lead Classroom Instructor to assist with performance appraisals and development plans for training staff.
  • Traveling domestic and internationally, as required for training sessions.
  • Mentors lower level training staffs.
  • Participates in special projects and service quality initiatives and ongoing user/technical related workgroups and meetings.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the laws, regulations and policies that pertain to the organizational unit's business and conforms with these laws, regulations and policies in carrying out the accountabilities of the job.

Education/Experience:

  • Requires a Licensed RN or BSN or a Masters' degree in a behavioral health related field.
  • Requires a minimum of three (3) year teaching experience in an education or business environment or two (2) year as an apprentice classroom instructor.
  • Prefers a minimum of one (1) year experience in health industry operations.

Knowledge:

  • Requires knowledge of training practices, training methodologies, analysis, design and development.
  • Requires knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Prefers knowledge of health insurance industry.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Requires strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Requires strong PC skills and utilization of related software.
  • Requires good interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels.

Special Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid RN License required or active Unrestricted NJ LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or RN License required
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Passport or required travel documentation for international travel.

Horizon BCBSNJ employees must live in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut or Delaware

Salary Range:

$77,900 - $104,370

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. This range has been created in good faith based on information known to Horizon at the time of posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case.
