POSITION SPECIFICS Faculty Position - Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor - Cell and Biological Systems The Department of Cell and Biological Systems at the Penn State University College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania invites applications from outstanding Ph.D. and/or M.D. scientists for a Tenure-Track position, to be filled at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor. The Department is within the thriving research environment of the College of Medicine and the renowned Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, located in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Requirements: Applicants should have a Ph.D., M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degree in the biomedical sciences (e.g. Immunology, Microbiology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology) and appropriate post-doctoral training. Candidates will be evaluated for their potential to develop an outstanding research program that produces impactful publications and attracts significant external funding. In addition, the position requires contributions to the teaching and service missions at Penn State College of Medicine. The search welcomes applicants with strong records of research accomplishment in any areas of biomedical research that may complement and/or expand the research interests of the Department. The Department has a range of strengths including: cellular signaling and metabolism; cardiovascular function; inflammation and innate/adaptive immunity, virology, molecular and cellular neuroscience, cancer biology. The Department enjoys strong interactions with the Penn State Cancer Institute, the Heart and Vascular Institute, the Institute for Personalized Medicine, the NIH-supported Clinical and Translational Science Institute, and the outstanding Core Facilities and Research Resources within the Penn State College of Medicine, including the new Cryo-EM Center.
