Location: Hybrid - Jacksonville


Schedule: Monday - Friday 8-5 with an on-call rotation



What work will you perform?


As a Data Analytics Developer, you'll be part of an agile team building innovative, data-driven solutions for Landstar using Power BI, complex SQL, and cloud technologies. You will work with data and build complex SQL queries and scripts to support analytics and reporting needs. You'll collaborate with business stakeholders and product owners to understand their needs and deliver sustainable, self-service analytics solutions. Your work will include designing semantic models, automating reports, and ensuring data quality throughout development. You'll follow IT best practices such as CI/CD, security compliance, and disaster recovery planning, while also documenting and sharing knowledge through reusable frameworks. You'll have opportunities to explore new tools like Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Python, and will participate in a rotating on-call schedule with your team to support early morning deployments and occasional issues.



Essential Responsibilities:



  • Work with the business, understand their needs/requirements and turn them into solid technology solutions, steering the business towards self-service
  • Research and adopt new technology
  • Follow, communicate and document requests that result in successful, sustainable solutions
  • Work within a collaborative team environment to design, develop, configure, deploy, and support technology solutions.
  • Diagram, document and share knowledge
  • Build frameworks that include reusable and repeatable solutions
  • Use database programming (T-SQL, PL/SQL) and create database objects
  • Follow CI/CD procedures, disaster recovery planning, database security compliance, SOX regulations and write technical documentation



Required Minimum Experience and Education:



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 4 years experience with analytics/reporting within the IT space.
  • 5 years experience with SQL development to create database objects for analytics
  • 4 years experience design, development, automation, and support of analytics and business intelligence solutions ensuring data quality during and after development
  • 4 years' experience following and/or implementing IT procedures including deployments, CI/CD, security compliance and technical documentation.



Preferred Experience and Education:



  • 1 year of experience with PowerBI/ Tableu / Alteryx or Qlick
  • 1 year of experience Data Warehouse / Lakehouse
  • 1 year of experience Azure Data Factory
  • 1 year of experience Python development



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Knowledge of MongoDB, certification a plus
  • Knowledge of Azure Cloud, certification a plus
  • Ability to mentor and develop more junior developers
  • Skills in DevOps/CICD
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies
