The supervisor is responsible to coordinate and oversee the safe, timely, and cost efficient transport of materials, equipment and hazardous materials, deployment and operation of tanker trucks and mobile electric generators, and logistical support during company emergencies. He or she is responsible for the supervision, development, and training of CDL drivers including ensuring all licensing and certifications are maintained. In addition, he or she will assist in monitoring and administering contracts including documenting vendor activities for payment of invoices. He or she will ensure all work is performed and equipment maintained in accordance with all applicable company policies and procedures and federal, state, and city codes and regulations.
Core Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee the safe, timely, and cost efficient transport of materials, equipment, and hazardous waste to/from company locations and job sites, along with operation of tanker trucks.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop company employees while ensuring compliance with the Standards of Business Conduct, EH&S policies, EEO, and all other applicable company policies and procedures.
- Conduct on-the-job training (OJT), effective job briefings, documented job site safety evaluations, and ensure that all personnel attend training and maintain licensing (CDL) and other certifications as required.
- Assign, control, and manage emergency call-in and overtime activities of assigned employees, as required to ensure the proper level of response to customer needs and system events.
- Perform contractor oversight responsibilities associated with all waste and transportation contracts, including tracking of vendor time, payments, and completion of CFORs and CERs within the Contractor Oversight System (COS).
- Ensure all vehicles and equipment are inspected, permitted, and maintained in accordance with all applicable company policies and procedures and federal, state, and city codes and regulations.
- Ensure the environmentally safe handling and management of all waste within the facilities and equipment.
- Ensure timely completion and processing of regulatory documents, including bills of lading, waste manifests, permits, etc.
- Coordinate with outside agencies, such as DOT, to ensure safe movement of over sized loads. This includes obtaining of proper permits.
- Provide immediate response to company emergencies by assisting with transportation logistics.
- Assist in the development, tracking, and evaluation of internal performance measures.

Required Education/Experience
- High School Diploma/GED and seven (7) years relevant work experience or in a supervisory/lead title or
- Associate's Degree and five (5) year relevant work experience or in a supervisory/lead title or
- Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years relevant work experience or supervisory/lead title
Relevant Work Experience
- 2 years Supervisory Experience Required
- Less than 2 years Knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations Preferred
- Less than 2 years Knowledge of hazardous waste shipping and manifesting Preferred

- Must travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies
- Must wear all necessary personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including; fire retardant clothing and safety harness
- Must work rotating shifts, including nights, midnights, weekends, and holidays
Additional Physical Demands
- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
