General Information: Student Affairs Communications and Marketing supports all areas of Student Affairs by providing graphic design, photography, videography and social media. Our work aligns with the Student Affairs mission to engage all students in accessible and inclusive learning, growth and personal development opportunities and experiences. Duties and Responsibilities: Creative services:
- Photograph Student Affairs events, Student Affairs spaces and stock photography of student life for use in social media, web and graphic design projects.
- Capture video footage of Student Affairs events, Student Affairs spaces and b-roll of student life for use in social media and web projects.
- Edit photos and footage into ready-to-use assets for SACM teams and Student Affairs clients.
- Create photo/video content for Student Affairs social media accounts, to include the Vice President for Student Affairs.
- Organize and catalog captured imagery for ease of future use.
Student supervision:
- Supervise and mentor students serving in photographer and videographer roles.
- Provide creative direction, advice and troubleshooting on student photo and video work.
- Provide photo/video student staff with technical training and real-world experience to increase proficiency and produce desired results.
Manage equipment:
- Train photo/video students in proper reservation, use, cleaning and storage of photo/video equipment and accessories.
- Maintain inventory of photo and video equipment and accessories, routinely audit and document annually.
- Complete individual cleaning and maintenance of photo/video equipment as needed.
- Recommend photo and video equipment and accessories for purchase by SACM.
Qualifications: Required:
- Ability to shoot and edit visually interesting photographs and video while adhering to an established style, with an understanding of composition, light, color and sound
- Strong technical knowledge of photography and videography - choosing appropriate camera settings to create desired results, when to use different lenses, capturing quality sound, giving direction to subjects, etc.
- Thorough knowledge of photo and video equipment, including cameras, lenses, microphones, lighting equipment, etc.
- Thorough understanding of Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Lightroom, Premiere Pro, Photoshop and After Effects)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong organization and planning skills, including the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
Additional Considerations:
- Experience in mentorship and/or instruction
- Expertise with Canon and Sony camera bodies and lenses
- Customer service experience
- Experience with social media content creation

For photography, please include examples of headshots and event photography, as well as any additional photographs you would like to show. For videography, please include several samples of your work, including what your role was in the production/post-production process for each. Samples that are especially helpful are interview-style videos, short videos intended for social media, informational videos (like what might be featured on a website) and videos marketing a specific product or service. Conditions of Employment: Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.
This is a part-time wage position working up to an average of 29 hours per week over the course of a calendar year with no benefits.
