POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Alutiiq Operations Services, LLC has an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant (IWTP) Lab Analyst supporting Tinker Air Force Base located in Oklahoma City, OK. The IWTP Lab Analyst performs a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to monitor and ensure the quality of wastewater treatment processes. This role involves sample collection, laboratory analysis, data recording, and maintaining compliance with environmental regulations. The Analyst also supports lab organization, cleanliness, and equipment maintenance.



  • Collect, prepare, and analyze wastewater, sludge, and environmental samples.
  • Perform laboratory tests including TSS, ReDox, FOS/TAC, pH, ammonia, phosphorus, and other regulatory parameters.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments such as spectrophotometers and microscopes.
  • Use a microscope to identify microorganisms and assess biological activity in treatment processes.
  • Interpret and apply knowledge of state discharge permits and regulatory requirements.
  • Accurately record and report test results; enter data into laboratory information systems (LIMS).
  • Prepare reagents and calibration standards; perform QA/QC procedures.
  • File and organize laboratory records, test results, and documentation for audits and inspections.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly laboratory environment, including routine housekeeping tasks.
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure accurate performance.
  • Assist with special studies, process optimization, and compliance reporting.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of laboratory experience, especially in a water or wastewater setting.
  • Proficiency in using spectrophotometers, microscopes, and other lab equipment.
  • Understanding of wastewater treatment processes and laboratory testing methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret state environmental permits and regulatory documents.
  • Strong organizational skills for filing, recordkeeping, and lab maintenance.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Familiarity with EPA and state testing protocols.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and laboratory data systems.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
