POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Alutiiq Operations Services, LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Machinist Maintenance supporting Tinker Air Force Base located in Oklahoma City, OK. The Machinist Maintenance performs repairs of metal parts and fabricates new metal parts in making repairs for mechanical equipment, keeps supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems encountered, and identifies and reports safety, environmental, and other work requirements for resolution.

• Interprets written instructions and specifications using basic knowledge of the working properties of common metals.
• Plans and lays out work using a variety of machinists' hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Sets up and operates standard machine tools.
• Complies with health and safety rules and procedures; performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.
• Incumbent will at all times wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as determined by position and duties.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Shapes metal parts to close tolerances.
• Performs standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds of machining.
• Selects standard materials, parts, and equipment required to produce the end product.
• Fits and assembles parts into mechanical equipment.
• Assists with fabricating and installing sheet metal, roll-up doors, ducts, drain pans, sign metal, etc.
• Paints metal if required.
• Assists in welding duties assigned to vertical shop.
• Utilizes and interprets technical manuals, shop directives, blueprints, sketches, diagrams, and specifications, verbal and written instructions.
• Responsible for completing daily work log documenting inspections, maintenance and repair information, to include work performed, materials used and hours worked on each assigned work order.
• Adheres to proper security practices, foreign object damage procedures and airfield driving regulations, as applicable.
• Interfaces with customers and responsible for customer feedback, as applicable.
• Operates motor vehicles in accordance with company vehicle policies.
• Complies with applicable federal, state, United States Air Force (USAF) and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) environmental laws and regulations.
• Follows Chugach Alaska Corporation and TSS JV furnished information directives; TSS JV Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), TSS JV Policies and Procedures, and contract requirements.
• Complies with health and safety rules and procedures; performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.
• Incumbent will at all times wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as determined by position and duties.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or equivalency.
• Current state driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of valid insurance.
• Minimum five (5) years' journeyman level experience required. Working experience on lathe, milling machine, automatic grinder, ability to tap and tread.
• Basic welding knowledge
• Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licenses/IDs/certifications.
• Ability to solve problems and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to adapt to changes in technology and applicable facility/infrastructure codes and standards.
• Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional & courteous manner in diverse situations.
• Proficiency and knowledge of a variety of hand and power tools.
• Demonstrated working ability read, write, speak and understand English.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• Seven (7) years' journeyman level experience.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
• Military experience.
• Previous experience working on a military installation.
• Experience working on Tinker facilities.
• Familiarity with military-specific facility/infrastructure codes and standards, as applicable.
