BNL Postdoc on ATLAS and EIC Job ID JR101946 Date posted 07/30/2025 The Omega Group in the Physics Department has an opening for two postdocs to join in the study of Electroweak and Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) physics on ATLAS at CERN and for the experiments at the Electron Ion Collider (EIC) being constructed at BNL. Applicants should have a strong interest in and experience with the LHC, RHIC, or EIC scientific programs. This position has a high level of interaction with an international and multicultural scientific community. The Omega Group in the Physics Department at BNL focuses primarily on the ATLAS experiment at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland. The Omega Group has major responsibilities in detector operations and software development, and has leading roles in the ATLAS High Luminosity Large-Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) upgrade. BNL serves as the host laboratory for the U.S. ATLAS Operations Program, the U.S. ATLAS HL-LHC Upgrade Project, the ATLAS Tier-1 computing facility, and is an active U.S. ATLAS Center. The Omega Group is becoming involved in the EIC and has strong detector R&D programs on silicon detectors and in data acquisition. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
