SUMMARY
Plans and administers policies relating to all phases of human resources activity by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
- Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions. Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
- Processes data for company payroll, including entering hours, maintaining employee deductions, run payroll checks, and 401K account payments.
- Keeps records of benefit plan participation, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting. Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
- Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
- Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Administers the performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization. Administers the salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within the organization.
- Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, and leaves of absence.
- Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier.
- Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover. Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
- Monitors progress towards annual goals established by the steering committee and establishes action plans to achieve the desired results.
- Demonstrates proficiency in Spanish, including reading, writing, speaking and translation, to effectively communicate with team members and support cross-functional collaboration.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships between Spanish-speaking employees and management, including supervisors and Human Resources, to support effective communication and workplace integration.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training and a High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience using computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
