Job Description

What You Will Do:



Astronautics is seeking a Procurement Lead. In this role, you will play a key role in subcontract supplier management during the development of the latest Avionics equipment and throughout the life cycle of the product. You will work with the integrated product teams (IPT) during the product development phase to ensure that the new design provides for the highest level of manufacturability. You will work directly with various team members and represent procurement and subcontract suppliers within the context of product development, through production, and product sustainment. You will also serve as the primary procurement focal, managing weekly procurement milestones/actions, focusing on cost targets, and coordinating DFM (design-for-manufacturing) interactions between suppliers and internal engineering and quality departments.

This hybrid on-site opportunity is located at our headquarters in Oak Creek, WI. You will report directly to the Manager of Procurement.



How You Will Do It:



  • Own project management of new product introduction (NPI) from a supplier management perspective.
  • Review and execute on all operations specific requirements per customer contract.
  • Plan and execute development NPI builds and ensure they transition to procurement per schedule requirements.
  • Be responsible for ensuring quality and on time delivery of subcontract suppliers.
  • Drive NPI scheduling and readiness with internal teams (gate reviews).
  • Analyze and define supplier requirements to build end-to-end process and systems for sustaining and NPI.
  • Manage and monitor deliverables from subcontract suppliers.
  • Support key management initiatives for new programs ensuring service readiness and provide recovery reporting when necessary.
  • Represent manufacturing, operations, procurement, and present program status and risk in monthly review to operations management.
  • Drive the completion of supplier involved tasks, relaying internal technical questions, and a demonstrated ability to organization and achieve operational timelines.
  • Review and report Line of Balance (LOB) data to integrated product teams (IPT) to support program schedule/requirements.
  • Review and report components in material review board (MRB) and return merchandise authorization (RMA) status.
  • Coordinate with Direct Sourcing Manager and buying team to communicate schedule requirements to support NPI/IPT.



What We Look For:
Required



  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or a related field from an accredited institution. Alternatively, a high school diploma with at least six years of procurement experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • A minimum of two years of project management experience
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams such as engineering to support NPI activities.
  • Experience managing, selecting, and driving accountability with key suppliers.



Desired



  • Experience with sub-contract management.
  • Experience reviewing drawings, statements of work (SOWs) and enforcement/manageing deliverables tied to the SOWs.
  • Experience working within an ERP system for sales and operations planning (S&OP).
  • Experience in an AS9100/ISO-9001 certified environment.
