For more information, visit our website at www.kearfott.com Position Description: Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in inspecting in-process components in a machine shop, gage lab, and assembly/coil winding environment. Essential Functions: * Directly supervises employees including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving issues. * Initiates cross training of specialty jobs to ensure proper back-up and efficient utilization of assigned personnel. * Responsible for interaction between Manufacturing and Quality Inspection. * Coordinates with Manufacturing to prioritize inspection work through multiple inspection areas and relays priority to inspectors as required. * Recommend corrective action for discrepancies found during audits/inspections. * Assists QAE's with MRB dispositions and scrap decisions as required. * Establishes and maintains portions of the Quality Assurance budget and assures proper control of cost elements. * Performs other tasks directed by Management to satisfy company objectives. * Coordinates periodically with outside calibration vendors. Position ensures adherence to Kearfott quality standards and customer specifications. * Coordinates ordering of gaging and tooling to support inspection activities. * Coordinates roll out of new inspection equipment as well as maintain including CMM and other automated inspection devices. Required Education & Experience: * 3-5 years of supervisory experience; supervisory experience in a machine shop inspection environment strongly preferred. * Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent education and experience combined. * Must be US Citizen.
