The Manager - Payment Solutions is responsible for managing the infrastructure and technology Wendy's utilizes for non-cash payment acceptance in-restaurant and across digital channels in the US and Canada. In this role, you will use your subject matter expertise to guide the creation of payment technology solutions aligned with key business objectives to deliver fast, frictionless, and fun customer and restaurant payment experiences. You will drive key initiatives by planning, coordinating, and supervising all activities related to the design, development, implementation, and service delivery of Corporate and Franchise payment solutions. This role is responsible for the performance, ongoing maintenance, and continual improvement of the payments function and the personal development of the technical team. Overseeing the tactical execution of payment technology development and maintenance, you will prioritize initiatives, manage payment service providers (PSPs), and implement and track KPIs to evaluate the efficiency of the payment system while limiting system impacting issues or downtime. You will ensure system compliance with PCI data security standards, maintain chain-of-custody requirements for Wendy's estate, and manage Franchise and Company support needs across markets. Leveraging proven interpersonal and problem-solving skills, you will cultivate strong cross-functional relationships, translate across business and technical domains, secure stakeholder investment in short and long-term roadmaps, and act as the link between technical, business, finance, marketing, and production support needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of corporate business concepts, card-present and card-not-present payment systems, effective anti-fraud tools, and will demonstrate a history of achieving the right outcomes by prioritizing, executing, and delivering high-quality results while modeling personal initiative and accountability.

Responsibilities
  • Provide input into Payment Solutions strategic plan. Contribute to the development of IT Annual Operating Plan through project identification, prioritization, and business impact. Lead discovery efforts and prioritize the backlog, working against established roadmap and coordinating dependencies to ensure delivery of initiatives on time and within budget.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise activities related to the design, development, implementation, and service delivery of Company and Franchise payment solutions. Utilize a broad perspective to identify solutions to complex problems across multiple layers of users that require regular use of ingenuity and innovation.
  • Manage the ongoing maintenance and continual improvement of payment technology and infrastructure. Implement and track KPIs to evaluate the efficiency of the payment system while limiting system impacting issues and downtime. Ensure system compliance with PCI data security standards, maintain chain-of-custody requirements for Wendy's pin pad estate, and manage Franchise and Company support needs across markets.
  • Establish effective working relationships with business partners and third-party vendors. Maintain relationships with Wendy's payment switch and fraud providers (ACI, OLS, Forter). Participate in SLA definition, invoice approvals, and budget forecasting. Influence vendor roadmaps to ensure Wendy's is achieving maximum value and speed to market from partners. Facilitate relationships with business partners and work cross-functionally to ensure business requirements and solution capabilities are effectively matched and implemented.
  • Provide support for international initiatives, facilitating discovery and solution implementation across international market segments. Support technical solutions while adhering to IT development standards, the IT change control process, SOX controls / requirements, and IT governance processes.
  • Provide support, coaching, and developmental opportunities for direct reports. Assign tasks, projects, and monitor workload balance and quality. Conduct performance optimization and other related activities.


What we expect from you
  • Education: Bachelors Degree in technology, business, or related field- required
  • 3-5 years of experience in cross-functional areas and leading cross-functional organizational projects. Demonstrated experience in working with diverse teams.
  • 2+ years working with enterprise payment solutions and equivalent experience working with IT that has resulted in an understanding of technology and its applications.
  • Previous retail, QSR, or experience in a franchise environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience leading 3+ large, complex programs / projects simultaneously.
  • Experience managing internal and / or external development and operations teams.
  • Possesses financial acumen to ensure that organizational efforts are aligned with the financial perspective of the desired business benefits.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms with a high level of influence and convey complex ideas to assist with decision-making and direction.

The base pay range for this position is listed below. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position. * The target annual bonus for this role is 20% of annualized base salary, based on actual company and personal performance.
