Clinical Supervisor - Social Work

Position Summary:
University Health is seeking a Clinical Supervisor - Social Work to oversee the delivery of high-quality social work services across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings. In this leadership role, you will supervise bachelor's- and master's-level social workers as well as graduate social work interns, ensuring excellence in patient-centered care throughout our medical/surgical and maternal-child health units.

In addition to clinical supervision, you'll provide direct care to patients facing acute, chronic, or terminal illnesses, while participating in multidisciplinary teams to support holistic treatment planning. This is a highly autonomous role with a direct reporting line to the System Director of Social Work and Care Coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical supervision for professional social workers and graduate students

  • Deliver direct social work services in hospital-based settings

  • Support and model evidence-based interventions for psychosocial care

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate effective, compassionate care

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of departmental protocols and staff education

  • Maintain accurate documentation and participate in data tracking and report generation

  • Represent Social Work Services through public speaking, presentations, and professional development activities

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program

  • Minimum 2 years post-graduate social work experience in a healthcare setting

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Missouri or eligible upon hire

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking

  • Proficiency in data management and report generation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of supervisory or management experience in a clinical or healthcare setting

  • Graduate field instruction experience in social work education
