Overview
The School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, located on the George H. Cook Campus, is one of the largest schools of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. We pursue excellence in research, teaching, and outreach in areas of study that address the biological spectrum from molecules to ecosystems. Our emphasis is on both the fundamental sciences and the social and human dimensions. We offer 21 undergraduate majors, including plant and animal sciences, microbiology, biotechnology, agriculture and food systems, landscape architecture, food and nutritional sciences, ecology and evolution, marine science and oceanography, environmental sciences and meteorology, human ecology, entomology, and environmental economics.
In addition to instruction in the classroom, field, and laboratory, our students have opportunities for experiential learning on and off campus, including a growing emphasis on international experiences through short- and long-term study abroad. Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Simulation Program Manager for the Department of Nutritional Sciences within the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Ensures lab resources are appropriately prepared and aligned with clinical and educational goals of the accredited programs.
  • Designs, writes, and refines detailed medical nutrition therapy simulation scripts and case scenarios focused on nutrition assessment, medical nutrition treatment, patient counseling, and interprofessional communication.
  • Collaborates with faculty and subject matter experts to ensure simulation reflect evidence-based medical practice and align with learning objectives and accreditation standards for the SEBS Nutritional Sciences undergraduate Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) and graduate Dietetic Internship (DI) set by the Accrediting Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
  • Configures, tests, and troubleshoots medical nutrition therapy simulation delivery technology and equipment, including artificially intelligent (AI) manikins, cameras, microphones, and software digital interfaces.
  • Provides technical direction and logistical coordination during medical nutrition therapy simulation implementation, ensuring smooth execution and timely transitions.
  • Maintains simulation lab environment, calibrating simulation equipment, and documentation materials for each medical nutrition therapy simulation.
  • Contributes to student assessment by supporting debriefing sessions and applying medical nutrition therapy simulation-based performance evaluation tools.
  • Remains current on medical nutrition therapy simulation pedagogy, emerging simulation development and delivery technologies, and software platforms to continually enhance realism and educational impact of the medical nutrition therapy simulations.


FLSA Nonexempt
Salary Details $45 - $50/hourly

Qualifications






Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutritional Sciences or Dietetics (DPD).
  • 10 years of experience in clinical dietetics in both adult and pediatric.

Certifications/Licenses

  • Credentialed Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES).
  • Active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Use of standard office equipment, audiovisual technology and simulation software.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Standing and lifting.
  • Ability to handle lab equipment up to 50 pounds.


Special Conditions

  • Depending on medical nutrition therapy simulation development and implementation and documentation requirements, occasional evening or weekend hours will be required.
  • This is a grant-funded position, employment in this position is contingent upon the availability of funds. Length of appointment, 6-months.
