We are looking for a Customer Quality Engineer. This role will be the first point of contact for our customers on quality related issues. In this role, you would be responsible for communicating the customer's requirements to the team. Additionally, you would be working with all areas of the plant to ensure conformity to our customer needs. Besides working internally, also working with other Tenneco sites on various issues. Conducting internal and external quality audits will be a focus of this position.

You'll first hear from someone in Talent Acquisition to schedule a phone screen, and then the next step will be a personal interview with our Hiring Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Host Customer Visits/Audits and submit quality assessments
  • Update customers in a timely manner regarding the status of quality requests
  • Understand customer specific requirements and how they translate to the plant
  • Work with engineering team on customer related issued
  • Communicate changes to customers and provide follow up to the plant
  • Manage customer portals and ensure all requirements are met
  • Maintain list of customer related issues and drive for improvements
  • Train and help guide the plant in identifying and developing problem solving methodologies to resolve quality issues.
  • Assist and support the New Product Introduction (PPAP Submissions, APQP) programs for Tenneco at the site levels as required.
  • Conduct internal audits of the quality management system
  • Assist with various activities for the plant such as trainings, tours, etc.
  • Develop and maintain various quality systems for document control, metrics, and excel based forms
  • Support Continuous Improvement activities throughout the organization
  • Evaluate manufactured products for conformity
  • Review supplier documentation for incoming products


Education:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or related field.

Skills & Experience:



  • Two plus years of manufacturing quality experience.
  • Understanding of automotive standards (IATF 16949 and ISO 9001)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft office
  • Ability to lead meetings and take efficient notes
  • Strong quality documentation experience.
  • Previous hands-on quality auditing experience.
  • Knowledge of measurement tools (ie caliper, micrometer)
  • Ability to read prints/ understand dimensional tolerancing



Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $65,000 - $85,000. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
