  • This adjunct instructor position will provide instruction to students in dental assisting program
  • The DA program requires adjunct faculty to be able to verbally communicate and demonstrate all aspects of dental assisting competencies
  • This involves all aspects of clinical duties for the DA


Duties include:

  • Provide instruction in dental assisting program courses
  • Attend faculty training/calibration sessions
  • Assist in course revision/program development activities
  • Manage Stark State faculty email account and advise students as necessary
  • Manage supply inventory
  • Provide constructive feedback to students on completing assignments and/or competencies.
  • Evaluate student performance using evaluation rubrics


Part-time Dental Assisting/EFDA/RDH Minimum Qualifications:

  • EFDA certification with three years of EFDA work experience
  • Dental assisting certification (DANB, RDA, or CODA) with five years of dental assisting experience
  • Radiographer's certificate-BLS Certification


  • Must be a certified dental assistant and/or expanded functions dental auxiliary with current radiography certification and BLS training.
  • Candidates must have working knowledge of at least one type of practice management software.
  • Candidates must be familiar with current dental office technology used in patient care.
  • Must have current knowledge of dentistry.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with all populations.
  • Must possess critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Must have working knowledge of computers to including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet navigation.
For the DA program the hours and days will vary depending on the semester. Must have flexible scheduling. Typical teaching days are Wednesday mornings and/or evenings, Thursday mornings/afternoons, and Friday mornings/afternoon. Typical teaching hours are 2 hours in a lab setting/pre-clinical setting.

Stark State College utilizes E-Verify to ensure compliance with applicable employment eligibility laws. E-Verify is an electronic system used to confirm the employment eligibility of new hires.
