WAMS/CCB Technical/Functional Resource
Client is seeking an experienced WAMS/CCB resource who is interested in supporting large information technology projects for our Utility Technologies Solutions team. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience with Oracle Utilities WAM v1.9x and CC&B platforms, strong data architecture and transformation skills, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure end-to-end solution integrity.
This resource will lead the data integration between Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Management (WAM) and Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing (CC&B) systems for rewire billing processes. They will play a key role in understanding the business and technical flow of rewire events, defining billing rules, and overseeing the full data lifecycle from extraction in WAMS to billing in CC&B.
Location: This position is remote and the customer is located in Washington. Occasional travel may be required.
Responsibilities:
- Define the technical integration between Oracle Utilities WAM and CC&B specific to rewire billing processes
- Develop and document reusable patterns for data extraction, transformation, and integration
- Ensure data design supports business rules, regulatory compliance, and performance standards
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define, clarify, and validate billing rules for rewire scenarios
- Document how rewire work orders and financial activities are represented in WAMS and how they map to billing entities in CC&B
- Support business process mapping to ensure technical design aligns with operational workflows
- Map WAMS data elements (work orders, service locations, costs, materials) to corresponding CC&B billing structures (accounts, service points, premises)
- Define transformation logic to convert WAMS data into formats ingestible by CC&B (e.g., CSV, XML, JSON)
- Architect secure, scalable, and auditable data exchange mechanisms using SFTP or similar protocols
- Development of extraction routines and transformation scripts
- Design and develop robust and scalable integrations that use OSB to expose and consume web services from the Oracle database.
- Adherence to architectural standards
- Troubleshoot integration issues and guide resolution strategies across systems
- Architect the logic and process to interpret batch responses from CC&B, confirming billing success or exceptions
- Design mechanisms to update WAMS based on billing outcomes (e.g., payment confirmation, status updates)
- Support system integration testing, data validation, and end-to-end scenario simulations
- Participate in UAT by preparing test data, supporting issue triage, and validating output accuracy
- Ensure technical solutions are thoroughly documented and ready for production deployment
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Information Technology, Computer Science or related degree with 5+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Utilities WAM v1.9x, preferably in a technical capacity. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Oracle Utilities WAM, particularly version 1.9x, including data model knowledge
- Oracle CC&B, including batch operations and data interfaces
- Strong understanding of relational database structures, ETL processes, and interface design
- Proficient in working with CSV, XML, JSON, and secure file transfer protocols like SFTP
- Ability to architect solutions that are scalable, secure, and maintainable
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for working across technical and non-technical teams
- Comfortable with leading solution design discussions, presenting architectural decisions, and writing clear documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with utility billing for rewires or other complex field service scenarios
- Familiarity with enterprise integration platforms or middleware tools
- Prior experience working in regulated environments or with municipal utilities
