Rapid Packaging has an exciting new opportunity for a Logistics/Operations Associate to become part of our energetic and dedicated Customer Success team! Our Logistics/Operations Associate plays a critical role in supporting the Customer Delivery and Sales team by coordinating and expediting shipments, managing freight relationships and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods. This position is responsible for maintaining strong partnerships with carriers, warehouses and internal departments to optimize logistics operations and uphold service excellence. We offer competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Logistics & Freight Management
- Lead with a strong commitment to safety in all logistics operations.
- Negotiate and manage freight contracts, ensuring cost-effective and reliable transportation solutions.
- Select carriers through the company's 3PL freight solutions provider and maintain strong relationships with them
- Track and expedite shipments, proactively communicating delivery updates and changes.
- Review and approve freight invoices, resolving discrepancies and negotiating accessorial charges.
Shipping & Receiving
- Coordinate shipping requirements for inbound international containers.
- Generate and maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation in compliance with operational and record retention standards.
- Manage carrier appointment scheduling and ensure timely delivery and pickup of goods.
Inventory & Warehouse Support
- Support warehouse operations by planning and managing workload in collaboration with warehousing personnel.
- Perform inventory control tasks including cycle counts, stock adjustments, and annual inventory audits.
- Inspect inbound products and maintain quality standards for all goods.
- Administer remote warehouse operations and manage returned inventory processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, management or related field
- One to two years of logistics and warehousing experience
- Exposure to a sales, manufacturing/machine routing, distributing environment preferred
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Accuracy in work and strong attention to detail
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions
- Customer service oriented with an ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships
- Experience with Microsoft Office software and other spreadsheet applications
- Exposure to computer software such as accounting, purchasing, MRP, TMS and WMS systems
- Epicor Prophet 21 experience is preferred * Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to read and interpret shipping and purchasing related documents and information
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and confidential company information
- Strong ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors, customers, and co-workers
- Above average ability to work with numbers and calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, and volume
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
- Lifting and/or carrying objects that may exceed 50 pounds below or above the waistline
- Certification to operate forklift - up to 8 hours per day
