Job Description Summary

The Director of Treasury leads the financial planning & analysis, treasury, and risk management functions. In addition, the role is responsible for analyzing financial components of the business, recommending opportunities for improvement, and supporting the accounting function.

Key Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities



  • Strategic Financial Reporting:Develop and deliver meaningful, insightful financial reports that support strategic decision-making. Collaborate with business leaders to manage balance sheet positions and optimize capital allocation, supporting long-term profitability aligned with organizational goals.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):Lead the financial planning and analysis function, including the annual budgeting process, rolling forecasts, and analysis of actual performance. Utilize scenario planning to anticipate financial outcomes and establish sound expense management practices to ensure funds are used efficiently.
  • Asset-Liability Management (ALM):Oversee ALM activities using Net Economic Value (NEV) and Net Interest Income (NII) modeling tools to assess interest rate risk and liquidity exposure. Serve as a key member of the ALCO (Asset-Liability Committee), facilitating meetings, performing scenario analyses, and preparing regular reports.
  • Risk Governance:Manage the organization's risk governance program. Lead or coordinate critical risk management functions, including monitoring key risk indicators, identifying emerging risks, overseeing issue management, conducting risk assessments, and supporting the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.
  • Investment Portfolio Management & Liquidity:Manage the institution's investment portfolio, including transaction execution, monitoring, and strategy development. Analyze investment opportunities and provide buy/sell recommendations. Oversee both daily and long-term liquidity, including all cash management activities.
  • Financial Analysis & Accounting Support:Conduct financial analyses to support accounting practices and assess business performance. Partner with the Controller to ensure compliance with GAAP, maintain audit readiness, and uphold a strong internal control framework.
  • Cross-Functional Project Leadership:Lead cross-functional initiatives and change management efforts aimed at improving financial systems and processes. Provide subject matter expertise, execute project deliverables, and ensure alignment with project scope and business objectives.
  • Team Leadership & Development:Manage, coach, and develop team members to build leadership capabilities and support professional growth. Handle HR matters, including performance management and succession planning.
  • Policy and Procedure Management:Maintain and update Finance department policies and procedures. Ensure documentation reflects current practices, remains efficient, and complies with regulatory and GAAP standards.
  • Professional Communication & Team Collaboration:Foster a positive, professional work environment by effectively communicating with internal stakeholders, external partners, and management in alignment with organizational values.
  • Industry Awareness & Compliance:Stay current with industry developments, including regulatory and technological changes. Ensure compliance with internal policies, company procedures, and all applicable banking or credit union regulations.
  • Other Duties:Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support department and organizational goals.


  • Job Requirements, Competencies, and Skills


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Masters or post graduate degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 8-12 years' experience in an Accounting or Finance position. Must have strong knowledge of finance, accounting standards and regulations (ASC). Credit Union or Banking related experience a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong decision making and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects/duties.
  • Results driven, service oriented, self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Trustworthy with the ability to maintain highest level of integrity and trust.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with the NetSuite Financial Suite and Workday Adaptive Planning a plus.

  • Stable internet connection with speeds high enough for video conferencing and screen sharing

  • Ability to communicate with coworkers and customers via email, chat, teleconference, and/or phone

Salary Range: $170,000 - $190,000 per year. Individual salary will vary based on skills and experience. Discretionary incentive compensation may be available based on company and individual performance.
