Monday-Friday | 8-hour shifts | Start time: 6am - 7am

Do you love staying organized and working behind the scenes to support science? Are you comfortable working with animal samples in a fast-paced lab environment? We're looking for a reliable, detail-driven professional to join our Sample Processing Team within the Clinical Pathology department.

This full-time role is ideal for someone who enjoys routine, values precision, and takes pride in producing high-quality, accurate work that contributes to meaningful preclinical research.

What You'll Do

As a Specimen Processor, you'll work hands-on with clinical pathology samples and support the daily operations of our research studies. You'll:

  • Prepare, label, process, and ship biological specimens while following GLP, SOPs, and study protocols.

  • Operate lab equipment (centrifuges, tube labeling tools, etc.) and ensure samples are stored correctly.

  • Generate study forms, maintain shipment schedules, and communicate shipment details to clients.

  • Manage inventory and supplies for sample collection and ensure all labeling and documentation meet regulatory standards.

  • Process samples accurately and efficiently, notifying study directors of any quality issues.

  • Coordinate work across multiple studies, attend planning meetings, and contribute to study readiness.

  • Follow proper PPE and safety guidelines to work safely with animal-derived specimens and biological materials.

What You Bring

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent and some lab experience.

  • Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a life science field (e.g., biology, animal science, medical lab science).

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word).

  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to follow written instructions, and commitment to high-quality work.

  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset-you'll be part of a team that works together to meet tight deadlines.

Schedule, Pay & Perks

  • Shift: Monday through Friday, daytime hours only

  • Starting Pay: $19/hour with overtime opportunities

  • No weekends or holidays

Work Conditions & Physical Requirements

This is an active lab role that includes:

  • Sitting, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, walking over uneven terrain, and repetitive hand motions

  • Regular use of safety gear (gloves, safety glasses, masks/respirators as needed)

  • Exposure to animal specimens, animal dander, and biological materials (including HIV-positive samples); TB screening required

  • Working with chemicals, solvents, and other hazardous materials in a moderate-noise lab environment

Tools & Tech

  • You'll work with standard lab equipment and Windows-based software (Excel, Word, internal electronic tracking systems)

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person's relevant experience and/or education level.
