Position Title: Ski & Ride School Supervisor - Winter 25/26

Business Unit: Ski and Ride School

Position Reports to: Snowsport Teams Manager

Positions Reporting to this Role: Ski & Snowboard Team Coaches

Location: Crystal Mountain, Washington

Wage Range: $24.00 to $28.00 DOE

Job Summary:
Ski & Ride School Supervisors plays a key leadership role in the daily operations and overall success of the Ski & Ride School at Crystal Mountain. These versatile positions support and supervise a wide range of lesson types and programs, including daily group lessons, private lessons, and multi-week youth programs. The role also includes administrative supervision duties such as scheduling, instructor support, and guest service follow-up. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, organized, and guest-focused individual who can adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a high standard of professionalism, safety, and staff engagement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily on-hill operations, ensuring lessons are delivered safely, professionally, and on time.
  • Act as the on-site point of contact for instructors, guests, and other departments during operational hours.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of weekend multi-week youth programs, including instructor assignments, group management, parent communication, and logistical planning.
  • Support the scheduling, check-in/check-out, and quality control of private and daily group lessons.
  • Serve in an administrative supervisor role during midweek operations including instructor scheduling, attendance tracking, lesson sales reconciliation, and communication with the sales and guest services teams.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and ongoing performance feedback to instructors to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with school standards.
  • Address guest concerns in a timely and professional manner, ensuring positive resolution and follow-up.
  • Ensure instructors are informed of current procedures, daily updates, and operational changes.
  • Assist with the implementation of instructor training and orientation in collaboration with the training team.
  • Collaborate with other departments (lifts, patrol, rentals, ticketing) to ensure smooth operations across the mountain.
  • Help maintain accurate records for payroll, attendance, and incident reporting.
  • Model and uphold Crystal Mountain's service culture, safety expectations, and code of conduct.
  • Fill in teaching lessons when needed based on guest demand and instructor availability.


Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or lead role in a ski and ride school or equivalent resort department.
  • Strong knowledge of ski and/or snowboard instruction practices and guest service principles.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage diverse teams and resolve conflicts.
  • Familiarity with ski school software (e.g., RTP, Inntopia, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Able to work outdoors in alpine conditions for extended periods.
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and peak periods as required.

Preferred Certifications:
  • PSIA-AASI Level 1 certification or higher is preferred but not required.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays while in operation.
  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.
  • Auditory and visual acuity to communicate with computers, phones, and mobile devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time on skis/snowboards standing, sliding, sitting, bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
  • Able to spend long periods outside without breaks. (Minimum 2 hours)
